if it's apocalypse, I would think that parents would name their children over things that reminded them of the life before. something like the name of a building or a dead country. "India" can be a name. "Lithuania". In addition, things like nature could be a possibility. "Sesame". "Bee". I'm super tired right now so you'll have to be patient with my lame name ideas, although the concept to me makes sense.
and I think very old names would be attractive to parents on the verge of apocalypse. They wouldn't want to look at recent times. they'd want to look at later decades and the "golden years" [although there's really no such thing in any country -- perhaps gilded, though ]. ^^

I also agree with this, though I do think that most characters in apacolypsy books do make up their own names, for like a gang or something. Their name could be anna, but I feel like they could change it to Swift or something like that. Just to make them to seem more dangerous or something of the like.

That makes sense. I always love the characters with long and complex names, but they refuse to go by it and instead prefer to be referred to by a personal nickname or a shortening of the name. Apocalypse makes me think of rebels with street names. But that's me. Just names like 'Ghost' and 'Sanctum' which are scrappy names. It just reminds me of steampunk and disaster. And Glucose has a point. I think the parents would name kids after the old days. Like old streets and cities. Such as Broadway, Vegas, Boston, Taj (Mahal). Again, scrappy names, but they definately sound like street names to me.
