Choices:
1: Just a frog
2: Just a frog
3: Did you?
4: Did you?
5: Just a frog
6: Did you?
Roll says... 1: Just a frog.
"Just one frog," you say as the line starts moving. "Not much."
"Oh." Dandelion's large eyes turn concerned. "I'll share with you next time."
"You don't have to do that," you say awkwardly. You catch a look from Gabber that says humor him. "But, I appreciate it."
"Okay." The tom nods slowly, mumbles "okay" again, and focuses back on the road, lost in thought.
The dark shape slips down from the wall as your troupe climbs back up the slope and sits down, waiting to meet you on the road. With the sun out of your eyes, you can see that it's a very strange looking black cat - taller and lankier than anything, like a four-legged spider, and fur that has a very weird shine to it, like scales, save for one crooked white marking on her chest that half-glows in the light. That's to say nothing of the head atop an extraordinarily long neck and with a stretched out muzzle and a bold nose, and long, slightly wrinkled ears that look like they've been bent around the edges a hundred times.
As the group moves past her, she casually watches the individuals. First Blitzkrieg, who gives her a nod and a quiet "hail", then Card and Gabber, who look away, then Dandelion, and then...
Her cold, pale green eyes move to you. Ice drains the blood out of your body. You cannot help but stare back. The eyes narrow even further, accompanied by a long, slight, wicked grin that makes you feel like a naked bird cornered by an adder. You force yourself to keep moving despite the coldness in your feet.
She stands up, turns around, and walks away, curling her tail into a crooked circle behind her. She steps down onto the slope on the other side of the bridge and promptly disappears from view.
You shudder violently, trying to shake the ice out.
"That's interesting," Gabber says quietly. She sounds nervous.
What's interesting?
Who was that?
Yes. Can we go now?
Say nothing.
