C H A P T E R F I F T E E N
I took a step back from Texas, and Angel ran up to me. She smiled and muttered in my ear,
"I'm so glad your alright, Hawk," I returned her smile.
"You didn't think i'd leave you in the lurch, did you?" We chuckled. I was happy to be back with all my friends, it felt so much better than having no one to rely on. I looked around at everyone, hearing the muttering about me, people wondering where i'd been. And somehow, Kaya- or, who ever she is was back - even before i'd arrived. I saw a flash of white in the crowd and 101 stepped out.
"206! We really thought you'd run out of steam. Welcome back," Kelly smiled and lead me and Kasai through the crowd and into a seperate office. For some reason she didn't have any questions about Kasai, and all the others seemed quite open to her.
We each sat down and Kelly looked at Kasai, a very cheerful expression on her face.
"Hawk, I take it you know Kasai,"
"Yes," I replied.
"But how do you know her?" I waited for an explanation, giving 101 an impatient gaze. I know it was rude but I really couldn't wait any longer, I needed to know what was going on. Only then would I spill the beans about so called Kaya and her secret alliegance with a one-eyed wolf.
"Kasai is a member of HOWLS, Hawk. She's a year older than you, and was sent on an undercover mission the day you were born. She went to investigate the group of dogs around the barn and never returned. We thought 403 had gone down with the barn-house when it exploded. So that's why, two years later, we sent you."
My eyes widened. It would have helped a lot, if i'd have known that sooner. Anyway, I only had one thing to tell Kelly, and that was about Kaya. I suppose it would be down to Kasai to tell the rest, because she'd been there two years.
"Ok, so Kaya is one of them," Kelly raised an eyebrow.
"Look, here me out. I found this out a while ago, when Ruki caught me. Kaya was there too. But I couldn't say anything because you wouldn't believe me. It was in the first code we got, as well. KayaAXPixa meant they were working together. Then these past few days, Kaya was there with Flo, holding me in a jail cell. Her real name is Juno." 101 just looked at me, as if she didn't care. Had I got something wrong?
"Hawk, that's impossible. Kaya's been here the whole time. She wouldn't betray the survice anyway, don't be ridiculous," I thought for a second or two. No, K- Juno was with me at the barn. Unless-
"Twins!"
"What?"
"Twins!" Kasai repeated again. She took the words right out of my mouth
"Kaya has a twin, a twin called Juno! I thought the excact same thing when I was there, except I met Juno without her catching me. But because Kaya hadn't known me that long, she forgot to tell her twin and I didn't get caught," The rottwieler explained. Of course! It was all piecing together now.
"Right," Began Kelly. "We'll arrest Kaya later, anything else?" I was about to hand over to Kasai, and then I remembered seeing Falcon. Or, who I thought was falcon.
"I think Falcon was there. I could have been hallucinating but i'm sure I saw him," I tried to say this as seriously as I could. After all, I had watched him being thrown off of a cliff by a tiger. But I could swear that dog I saw back at the barn was him.
"Kasai, you've been there the whole time, could it have been Falcon?"
"No, of course not. Flo was one of the rouges at the battle where it happened. She watched at the opposite end of the canyon and saw him smash his head on a rock before falling into the rapids. The water was carrying KAT too. If he didn't bleed to death or drown, KAT will have caught up with him."
I sighed. There goes that dream. Kelly spoke into the radio on the wall, telling whoever was there that Kaya was under arrest. As we were walking outside, I saw Texas pouncing on Kaya, and holding her to the floor. I smiled and took over, him happy for me to take my revenge. Oh, sweet revenge. I pinned Kaya once more, slamming her as hard as possible into the concrete. Dogs were watching and whispering amongst themselves. All the more embarrasing for this wretched fool. I began to speak. This was something i'd always wanted to say to her.
"You, Kaya, are here-by placed under arrest by the laws of HOWLS and dog-kind. You have the right to remain silent, but anything you do say will be put up as evidence when your trial comes. For now you will be held here-" She began to struggle, so I once again slammed her head to the floor with my paw. "-and will be questioned until your trial," I smirked, letting her stand before two more dogs - Kasai and Rita - placed a heavy metal collar around her neck, attached a chain and led her slowly to the cells a level below us.
I watched, smiling as Kaya was escorted out, growling while she went. I chuckled and walked back to Texas, happy that I was back to him. He began to speak and I listened intently,
"You know, we were all worried about you. Where the heck have you been?"
"101 sent me undercover, I couldn't tell you," I said, hoping to god that he'd be okay with the fact that I had kept a secret from him.
"It's fine, Hawk. You did what you needed to do,"
After I had spoken to Texas, I headed back to find Kelly; who was no where to be seen. I needed to ask her who the outsiders were. A question she'd asked me a month ago. I guessed they were the dogs she'd sent me to check on, but it was hard to be sure after everything going on around here. My eyes scanned the main hall, and I eventually found Kelly walking out onto the balcony. I stayed where I was, as she was probably going to announce something. She howled to get our attention, and when everyone in the main hall became silent, she began to speak.
"As you all should know, Agent. 206 has been undercover for two days, bringing back Agent. 403 and discovering the truth about Kaya and her twin," Kelly began, and I was intent in listening. She was most likely going to launch an attack, and I knew by the look on her face that Kelly 101 was back in business.
"In one hour, I will be holding a meeting for the top agent's on the job. I will be excpecting to see this list of agents there; 459, 713, 403, 019-" This was Nine's full agent number,
"206-" Sorry for all the interuptions here, but I really wasn't excpecting to hear my name there. I honestly thought I was still a lower ranking agent.
"I will also be excpecting to see Rita, Jay and Angel, who have all had their agent numbers reinstated. Rita, Agent. 533. Jay, Agent. 601 and Angel, Agent. 391,"
Angel's eyes widened in shock, but I could tell she was happy. Jay was almost jumping for joy, and Rita was just glad to finally get her Agent. status back after Loki had died.
"Dismissed!" Kelly yelled, leaving the balcony and going back to her office. I passed Jay and Rita, and was on my way to find Texas again. After a short stroll, and bumping into Raven and Pistachio, I found him. He was in the training room, shooting at the targets like a trained assasin. I never knew how good his aim was. I waited until he had finished, then barked at the door to see if he was coming. He barked back, and a second after appeared at the door. Texas smiled at me, and we began to walk.
"So, what do you think this meeting's gonna be about then?" He asked eagerly.
"I hope we don't have to go and find Ruki again. That mission was a fail," He chuckled, and I did my best to contain my laughter.
"I don't think it's gonna be about that, Tex. But I have a pretty good idea of what it could be,"
