"Let's stay here," you mutter. "Get under the bridge and we can wait this fight out."

You lead them to the bank in front of the stone formation that makes up the bridge. Sitting close together, the three of you listen in as the fight turns even more violent, before someone shouts for a retreat. You hear cats sprinting over the road and disappearing into the bushes nearby, but someone is lagging behind. A couple voices are jeering.

Scat lifts his head and narrows his eyes.

The lagging cat is wheezing overhead. "Where's..." he starts, and then coughs wetly. You can smell his blood from here.

There's a small breeze beside you. You turn and look at the empty space where Scat used to be. He's scaling the slope, tail lashing.
