Rescendo and Synesthesia

and her father who'd never let them be together
Part 11
Synesthesia stayed in the park for a long time. After they hugged, they walked around for a bit, talking about how Rescendo could help his mom and get his education at the same time. He still wanted to be a teacher but the situation he was facing was keeping him out of school. After a bit, Synesthesia noticed the sun was retreating from the sky and gasped in surprise. "Oh no! My parents don't know where I am! I was going to be back before anyone came home! Oh Re, I've gotta go!"
Rescendo nodded and trotted forward, "well c'mon slowpoke. Let's get you home!" he said and ran ahead. With a laugh, Syn ran after him towards her neighbourhood again.
It was colder out and Synesthesia was feeling a little poorly. She was wondering if coming out for so long was a good idea with her pneumonia but it wasn't long into the thought when Rescendo wrapped his arm arounf her and hugged her close, banishing any doubts from her mind. She smiled and felt a vibration from her coat pocket. Synesthesia pulled out her phone. It was 3:45 and there was a text from Clairvoyance waiting for her:
Syn, where r u!? txt bak asap!
Synesthesia bit her lip and responded to her sister, letting her know she went out for a stroll and was coming back home now. After she sent it, she slipped the phone back in her coat pocket and hugged Rescendo close to her. She missed this togetherness.
Around fifteen or so minutes later, they arrived outside her house. The car wasn't back so her parents weren't home yet. Maybe traffic made them late or something else. Either way, Synesthesia was grateful for not having to explain her absence and even though Clairvoyance could tattle, Synesthesia found enough information about her sister during her house arrest to blackmail her into silence.
Synesthesia turned to Rescendo with raised eyebrows. "Wanna come inside? My parents aren't home yet. It'll just be my sister and brother and they both know about us already."
Rescendo shrugged, "Sure if you want me to."
Synesthesia nodded and held his hand as she brought him inside.
She wasn't in even ten seconds before Clarivoyance was at the door looking livid. "You faker! You were out 'strolling' when you were supposed to be sick!" she said gesturing to Rescendo in a very impolite manner.
Synesthesia had had enough of her sister's holier than art thou preaching and placed her hand on her shoulder, commanding her silence. "Look sis, I got the ok from Mom and Dad saying I AM allowed outside. As for your assumptions of Rescendo here. You be nicer to him or I'll make your life miserable."
Clairvoyance laughed a bit. "How?"
Synesthesia's mouth curved into a wicked smile. "Let's just say I ran out of books to read and found some very interesting reading material underneath your mattress. Too bad the lock is broken on it."
Clairvoyance's face blanched when she figured out what her sister meant. "You didn't..."
Synesthesia nodded. "I sure did and if you say anything bad about Rescendo or blab anything to the family, your personal business that you don't want Mom or Dad knowing will be exposed. We clear?"
Clairvoyance nodded with a gulp and turned to leave. "I've gotta go do homework," she said and ran upstairs. Seeing her run up so fast and hearing al of that, Rescendo looked at Synesthesia with raised eyebrows but didn't say anything.
Not long after, the voices of Dissonance and someone else caught both their attentions. They walked into the kitchen to see Dissonance working on an art project with a girl from his class. Immediately, Rescendo's jaw dropped. "Sierra!?"
The little pup looked up and smiled at her brother. Dissonance smiled and looked up at Synesthesia. "Hey Syn, meet my best friend!"
