Chapter 2 - Recovery
Brightpaw
A shiver ran through the young she cats pale cream fur. Her light blue eyes flickered open and she mewed softly in pain. She lifted her head and found herself in a small dark cave. There was enough room for her to move around and walk a little. Bu the walls were no more than four fox lengths apart. She padded towards the entrance and looked out and laid her ears back at what she saw. Two cats a blue grey tom cat who glanced down at her with fiery amber eyes and a large brown tom cat with equally brown eyes both sat either side of the entrance.
"No leaving the den" said the large brown tom who she recognised as Rockclaw. He flicked his tial as if indicating she needed to go back in. Brightpaw wlaked back into the den worriedly. She was a prisoner and was scared, she had heard the stories that followed Shadowstar and her loyal deputy Bronzeflame and they always filled her with dread and now she was stuck and at there mercy. No, she wasn't scared...She was terrified. She walked to the back of the den and led down against the wall silently.
"Leafpaw" she whispered curling up in pain. Her shoulder burned, as did the cut behind her ears and she couldn't be bothered to even try and run. She saw no point, Wildclan outnumbered Waterclan at least two to one and so even if she got away the whole clan couldn't stop her being caught again.
Riverstep
The dark grey she cat ran a paw over her soft white ears with a sigh. She looked up at the sky and shook her head as if asking Starclan why they had allowed any of this to happen. She looked back down and her grey eyes rested on where her apprentice had been led moments before. She sighed softly and stood up padding in the direction her apprentice's scent led. She walked silently, or as silently as possible for a cat and soon she stumbled out of the tree's and instantly spotted the brown tabby fur of her apprentice. She could see the tear tracks from the young cat from where she stood and her heart almost wept for the apprentice. She had lost everything, Leafpaw and Tawnystripe never got on which meant she didn't even have her father to turn to. She padded to Leafpaws side silently and sat down in the soft sand.
"Leafpaw, I know my words won't mean a lot to you. No one can make you feel better about whats happened and I am not going to try. But...I swear to you, somehow even if it takes me a moon I will get your sister back. I will go against Wildclan alone, or even against Splashstar if it means I get to bring her back to you. I can't make up for letting her be caught but I can try to save her from whatever fate she faces" she said softly, even though she was quiet as she said it you could feel the honesty in her voice and she was rewarded with Leafpaw looking up.
"Thank you" whispered the apprentice sitting up and burying her head in her mentors chest.
Shadowstar & Bronzeflame
The large copper tom was sat beside his leader wordlessly, his amber eyes gazed out of the den entrance as he watched his mate before snapping his attention back to his leader as she spoke.
"That went well, we have to thank Kestrelpaw for telling us the prophacy" said the black hearted, black furred she cat. She looked up with a cold smile and twitched her tail. Bronzeflame nodded his eyes bright.
"What do we do with her now?" he asked politly dipping his head as he spoke. Even the smallest thing could anger there leader and no way was he risking it. He normally got on well with his leader but the smile that appeared on her face was incredibly cold and creepy. He flicked his tail slightly worried.
"We bring her up as one of us, make her hate her sister and her clan. Once thats done she will never be able to work against us and so we will take over the forest" said Shadowstar her eyes bright and cold. She turned to look at her deputy and waited for a reply.
"We are letting her live?" asked Bronzeflame softly and his leader nodded before flicking her tail dismissing him.
"So my daughter, lets see how you feel" she said coldly to herself before she left the den.
Woop, sorry for how short these chapters are. But it's easier for me to write like this. Brightpaw seems to be in trouble though doesn't she.
