"Aubrey Jasper, I'm guessing?" The teacher muttered, patting me on the shoulder. "Yes, you're Aubrey. The new one. This way, if you would."
I shuddered as her cold, wrinkly hand pushed me towards the main office. There, another teacher, this time a young one with ginger curls and pursed lips, gave me a school planner, a handbook and a timetable card. I looked at my first lesson. Maths, room 23, 9:05am.
"Excuse me, where's room 23?" I asked the teacher, fiddling with my timetable.
"Down the stairs, go right, up the ramp go left and it's in front of you." She huffed, as if she had better things to do, although she was just slouching against a wall with some coffee.
I looked at the clock. It said 9:02. I quickly ran down the stairs she had pointed to, then turned right. I went up the ramp, but it looked more like a large step. Then I turned left, and surely enough, a small door labeled '23' was in front of my eyes.
There was no one there, so I waited. I waited five minutes. Then another five minutes. Finally, about twenty minutes had gone and a class filed outside of the door.
As I walked to the back of the line, a tall girl caked in makeup glanced at me. "Oh lord, THIS is the new one? I was hoping better than that."
All the class snickered apart from three girls at the back of the line, and a boy next to the tall girl.
"Madison. That's not funny." He whispered.
"Yeah well the rest of the class thought it was, didn't they?" She laughed evilly.
