oh, heart

Where bleeding greens and aquas mix
on valleys through we comb and glide
legless on this wagon ride

where serendipity
casts her haunting stare on us
jadeite and tender red

and forth shall rise a cold mirage

in this verdant tableau

an isle of flaming hues

billowing in the breeze

oh if only you could see
what my eyes long to spill on parchment
and send it to your chest through cherub songs

when before the storm, the winds a choir
oh, love
if only you could hear
the humming of the buzzards drawing near

I feel you sitting
in my heart today.
Tapping your
sneakered feet impatiently
and brushing fingertips
against my insides.

I smile and hold
a hand to my chest,
as my organ murmurs
ever faster,
warming you up.

Dreary

Once upon a sunlit dream
I woke to find myself esteemed
By lovingly, with every stare
I came to see you everywhere

And as I reached with melding hands
To fix what I could understand
A single notion I did find
That it was you patching my mind

But I came to and only then
Did I find love and a best friend
Your company a gift to me
Constantly uplifting me

I wonder if there's something who
Is watching over me and you
And laughing at our every turn
Every kiss and every burn

Words

I voice my problems to a ball
Which offers no advice at all
For without ears, I'm very sure
It cannot hear a single word

I list my sins to every stair
When still there comes no answer there
If anything, it holds a grudge
Such crooked things are known to judge

I read a novel to my screen
A page of hearts, they're gone to me
In poured response the planet groans
Exclaiming I will die alone

And so it seems the only one
That lets my mouth dry up and run
On the window; condensation
Makes for hearty conversation

Religiosity

The grass was soft, chilled,
I was warmed by thoughts
of distant galaxies; I absent-
mindedly picked at strands of
earth (green, close, and real).

I waited for the dawn, for dew,
to cover me and close my eyes.
And what wondrous distant stars
would watch me take one breath--
and die?

Until that end of night, I search
for constellations other see.
But no, there is no human face,
just abstract patterns I once traced
across the milky sky.

Watery and glowing
I lift you on my shoulders and then suddenly my blood stops flowing and I freeze.
I'm on my knees
Where else could I be?
Abraxas, if you please, won't you make a saint of me?

She breathes all mist and clouds
Dividing, most of her here but
Some parts hiding.
Some parts sliding out of place.
Mostly past the stars in space.

And if this spirit rambles forth
Without a rhyme, I'll find my course
But I am just too human for this earth.

Sweet leaf on the water
won't you comfort me?

Aging petals in your hair
you turn to me, and there are
rusting metals in your stare and you
are looking everywhere and you
are looking at me.

I hold onto your words for I am waste
"but you can't help it", she said
"Take your life and shelf it 'till the right one comes along."
The one you hear about in songs.

Listen to my fingers
All signs refer to you
and your design tells me what's blue
and what is true.

I once lived unlearning, concerningly free
Nursing myself out of stupors
He got me out of bed, and he said "can't you see your existence is far from a blooper?"

The nerves in your feathers, their tethered to me
and I sprinkle your dust on my bowl
The string that has tied us is made from a tree
who's essence is part of our soul

He is one, and he has won my warm eternity
I belong to every second that he's near
He is in the sky, the wind, atmosphere and sea
Celebrating every lunar year

I have found, in love and sound, that all I've ever needed for happiness is very simply put, having you around to hold me silly
My heart has gone all willy-nilly

silver dreams

You're ataraxy before calumny
but peace that drives off cowardice
flees the mutilated gravity
abandoning our faces

profound life of yours
fathomless death of us
winter shutters in silence
and I, inert before your voice

these words hold no more sense
