wasting my days away
wasting my days away, a short recollection belonging to gene fantasy. featuring ruth sake.

the sun shone warmly against a red kalon's fur. he walked one dog with a leash on in his hand and carried another in his other. a small sleepy puppy who couldn't be over a year old, which the kalon never decided to walk at the age. he tied the larger dog with the leash to a fence for a moment to enter a small tv repair shop, the smaller one still held in his arms. "hi." he'd said to the kalon at the desk, who was sitting with a friendly smile reading the morning newspaper. "i have this tv back at home, i was wondering if you could fix the time to look at it, since it's not working." "oh, you can just bring it in today. if you want. we don't need to fix times at this store. you new to this town?" the red kalon hesitated, "yeah. i'm fantasy. that's what you can call me. i'll bring it in tomorrow if that's okay." he headed out, grabbing his dog. fantasy thought, it was almost a bit embarrassing for that to happen. see, fantasy was from the city. well, many cities. and generally in the city he'd have to wait almost days to get the time to even talk to someone at a repair shop. but that's what he liked about this town. it was a small one, with unbusy streets and small buildings all around. he'd bought a lovely and large property for quite a cheap price to settle his camper down in. work was at the floatplane dock and he'd admit it was hardly work at all, perhaps keeping him tired each day from it's bizarre hours, but it was all pretty enjoyable anyways. a very generous fashion company was located there, helping him to get his designs through. actually it came a shock to him, in the city, kalons in the fashion business would never let him in, yet there he was fulfilling his dream. and lord, he thought, life couldn't get any better.

"ah--! oh lord, i'm sorry... i really didn't mean to--" picking up another's groceries while apologizing sporadically, most likely trying to avoid possible harm or conflict. "haha, that's fine dude." the other kalon had a simple smile on her face, laughing at the situation. "i'msorryi'msorryi'msorry..." fantasy received a small, friendly hit on his shoulder. "hey man, it's fine, really. don't you have work at this time? you're fantasy yeah?" it most definitely true that in smaller towns, kalons are much friendlier, fantasy thought. back in the city that was something he'd never be able to get away with, no matter how much he apologized. yet today-- wait, how'd she know his work hours? how'd she know his name? right, small town stuff. everyone catches on sooner or later. and he probably didn't even need to have told the kalon at the tv repair shop his name. "thh-thanks. and yeah, i'm fantasy, that's what you can call me..." his voice was still a bit shaky, but he was surely thankful. "ruth's the name," ruth let out a paw to help fantasy up. "i run this lame plant shop down the street, you should visit some time." her voice full of humour. fantasy liked that. "yeah, i should."

this is one of the shorter stories fantasy likes to think to when he feels as if he's alone. with so much the town has offered to him so far, it's almost impossible to feel that way. in his eyes, everyone is very friendly, but maybe that's just because he's from the city.
