they used to be the best of friends. they used to be the good kids of the neighbourhood, always helping out with whatever was needed. they were also together. many people said that they were meant for each other, and they thought so as well. they laughed together, shared jokes with each other, and also stayed with each other during the tough times. however one day, he left. not he did not move away but he started pushing her away and started coming home late reeking of alcohol. she tried to ask him to stop but all he did was ignore her and push her further away. it was then she realized that he got fired from his job and started hanging out with gangs. she warned him about his new "friends" but all he did was insult her saying that she was jealous that he made new friends, hurting her feelings. and to make matters worse, he decided to break up with her. after that they stop being friends, he moved away and became the angel during the day and the demon at night and she remained herself. after three years, they re-met when her jerk of a boyfriend drags her to a club and ditches her for another girl. he saw her getting 'attacked' by a group of drunk guys and offered to take her home. things were awkward at first in the car ride but then they began talking and it was as if they were like old friends. he told her he moved back to their hometown and lives just a couple of blocks down. he learned that ever since he left, he left her broken and shattered. though after one year, she was forced into a relationship due to money issues. but her boyfriend had been a little abusive when drunk. he is also a flirt and she always caught him kissing another girl late at night just in front of their house. slowly, they became friends again and he started to stray from his gang. he slowly fell for the girl again, but can she really forgive him and get back with him after what he had done to her?

alright, so the main character is a 16 year old girl who is an orphan. she was abandoned by her parents when she was at a young age, at either four or five years old. She has a very shy and quiet personality so she does not have any friends at the orphanage, as the other children there think she's a little creepy sometimes and they also think that she's not a sociable person. some of them had actually bad mouthed her behind her back, but loud enough for her to hear, so as to purposely hurt her. They would make very mean assumptions as to why she was abandoned. and since she has a very shy personality, she dare not talk back to them. so all her years in the orphanage, she would spent most nights crying alone in the darkness and keep all the sorrow to herself.

so one day, she had enough, so she decided, she would escape from this prison. she plotted out her escape route and planned it on her sixteenth birthday. so when midnight stuck, she secretly wished herself happy birthday and good luck to the outside world. and about four or five in the morning, she snuck out from the window and entered the nearby town which was her hometown. now because she has spent almost all her live in the orphanage, this town is like a foreign country to her. she stolen some money from the orphanage the day before and so she managed to rent a small apartment. and for almost the whole day, she tried to look for a job and finally found one at a cafe near her apartment. thankfully, she had classes at the orphanage so the cafe hired her and she could start the next day.

so when the next day came, she got ready for work. so this one customer came, he is a regular customer, and she happened to take his order. but since she's new, she got his drink mixed up with another. the cafe manager, does not want to lose a regular, so he almost fired her, but luckily, that customer saved her, saying it was no big deal. now this guy, he is an artist. and he comes to the cafe everyday for a drink and a slice of cake every now and then. the cafe is a really peaceful and quiet place to just sit and do his work. so after a few more days of her serving him, she had apparently caught his attention. he realized that she does not talk to other waiters and waitresses like normal people do, and she also does not talk much to other friendly customers. so this guy, she started drawing sketches of her.

unfortunately, he was actually in an arranged relationship with one of the town's riches girls. of course he does not fancy her as much as she loves him, but it was an arranged marriage after all. so his wife, she usually would ask him to paint portraits of her. and one day, she was flipping through his sketchbook to 'admire' herself, and found the sketches of the other girl. and of course she got really mad and argued with him. and when she no longer could handle him any more, she complained to her father. now her father owns one of the town's largest companies and so no one dares to disrespect him. and being a very high ranked person, he did not allow the artist to break up with his daughter. so this artiest could not handle the marriage any longer, so he told his wife he was going on a trip with some friends for a few days, but he was actually sneaking away. so on the night of his escape, he actually found an open window, and decided to enter. and so the window actually belonged to that orphan girl. he pleaded with her to allow him to stay in her apartment for a few days, and her being that very shy and compelling girl, agreed. so the two struck up a very close bond as weeks flew by and they became very close. but word got out to the rich girl, and so she complained to her father again, saying she was cheated on.

but when the father came to 'investigate' the moment he saw the orphan girl, he grew very angry. so it turned out that he was actually her father. he abandoned her after he and her mother divorced because everything about the girl reminded him of his ex wife, her brown hair, blue eyes, smile, laugh, everything.

these two have been together for almost a year now. the guy is an artist while the girl [isabelle] is a writer. they met when they were in college, during their last year. they promised to get married a year after they graduate, but only three months after they graduate, they guy begins to act very coldly towards the girl. he begins ignoring and neglecting her. and he has also been seen hanging and flirting around with other girls at a club. the girl of course felt hurt, but she didn't want to lose him, so she didn't say anything. but after a few more days, the guy finally came clean with her and tells her he wants to break up with her. he did not really leave her with any choice whether she wanted it or not. after they broke, the guy left for another country, never seeing nor contacting the girl again. the girl's brother [alec] tried to find the guy but to no avail, she told him not to bother anyways. ever since that incident, the girl had never healed. she lost her cheerful smile, her joyous laughter, and she never hung around with anyone much. it was not until a year later, her brother finally found her a job where she could stay at home and write articles. slowly, he began to bring back the girl she once had been.

two years have passed since the break up, and the girl now lives a happy life, single, but with her brother of course. one night, her brother decides to bring his friend, simon over to their house. simon immediately falls in love with isabelle, but of course, she only treats him as a friend. alec explains what happened to isabelle and told his friend that isabelle does not trust as easily as she used to, and also does not fall in love like she did once. she may look perfectly fine outside, but her insides were still trying to heal. simon slowly starts a friendship with isabelle and tries to get her to open up to him. can he heal the broken heart of an angel?

but then someone had to come and ruin everything. isabelle was indeed starting to heal. but one day, her ex came back, asking for her forgiveness. for a few days he kept begging and pestering her, telling her to give him another chance. once again her ex had dragged her back into the dark life that she tried so hard to forget. can simon mend her heart once more? or can isabelle never learn to love again?

months went by and things were going great. [boy 1] and [girl 2] are slowing having feelings for one another. but one day, [girl 3] who turned out to be [guy 1] ex girlfriend turned up and said she want to be his girlfriend again. literally tearing the relationship between [guy 1] and [girl 2] apart. and [guy 1] can't seem to make up his mind.

but while he's busy making up his mind, [guy 2], who was once a good friend of [guy 1] starts flirting with [girl 2], also trying to tear [guy 1] and [girl 2] apart. this makes [guy 1] very angry and jealous.

veronica is a normal eighteen year old girl, or so she thought. . .

she was abandoned at the age of four by her father and step mom a few days after her biological mother passed away. she has a pendant that her mother gave her before she passed and she always wears it around her neck. she had a very shy personality and is not very sociable. because of this, she does not have friends in the orphanage and always keeps to herself. as she grows older, she becomes quieter and tries to hide her presence, she spends more time in her room than outside. because of this, many other children, both older and younger than her, talks behind her back and also makes mean assumptions as to why she was abandoned, purposely trying to hurt her. veronica is too scared to tell the adults so she just locks herself in her room, shut herself out from the world and cries in sorrow.

it was finally on her eighteenth birthday that she finally decided to wake up and explore the world before her. on her eighteenth birthday, she woke up extra early (five am) to pack all her things, she also stole some money from the orphanage. just before the sun rises and everyone gets up, veronica slipped out of the orphanage through her window. she entered a nearby town which was her hometown, however, because she spent all her live in the orphanage, this town is like a foreign language to her. she managed to rent a small apartment with the money she stole and spent the rest of the day settling in.

the next day, veronica went to explore the new town and decided to look for a bookstore since she had a deep passion for books, especially fantasy ones. after quite a while, veronica finally found quite a large bookstore near the end of the town. as she entered, she could feel her jaw drop as she was amazed by how big the bookstore was. it was even bigger than her apartment. it has two stories and are filled with nothing but books, the wallpapers also fascinated her since all her life the only wallpaper that looked interesting were the ones in the cafeteria back at the orphanage. slowly she browsed through the different genres, searching for a fantasy section when she suddenly bumped into someone, stumbling backwards and almost knocking over a bookshelf. luckily though, the guy managed to catch her before she could create chaos in the bookstore.

alexander was his name. he had a very friendly and cheerful personality and the two became friends quite fast. they talked about their past, their hobbies, passion, and also share jokes. veronica had never been this happy her whole life. alexander also gave her a tour around the town to help her get familiar with it. he also showed her his apartment which was just a few blocks away from hers. slowly, friendship turned into something more as they realized that they have feelings for each other. but alexander told her they could not be together and tells her that he was forced into a relationship with a rich girl. heartbroken, veronica began shutting herself out again, but that was when she started experiencing strange things happening to her. she could hear voices in her head, the thoughts of those around her. this shocked her greatly and because of this, she kept questioning herself whether she was going mad. but alexander arrived at her apartment on the same night she started hearing the voices and he slowly explained to her that she, like her mother, is a Seeker. this means that she can hear the thoughts of others and can also speak with animals of all kinds. he also tells her that he is her guardian. his parents were a close friend of her mother and she had asked a favor from him which is to protect veronica.

upon hearing this, veronica became very angry since he knew all along what she was and did not tell her. once again, she began pushing him away. but one night, she was kidnapped while sleeping, kidnapped by the forlorns. the forlorns are a dark group that plans to rule the earth, first by destroying each and every living thing. but to do that, they need three weapons, the deathbringer (sword), lightbane (sword) and Orenmir (dagger). they kidnapped veronica thinking that she knew where they were, but it was her mother who knew since it was her mother that hid the weapons. just in time though, alexander arrived and killed off the forlorns, rescuing her.

he told her that her apartment was no longer safe as they know where she is (without explaining much) he drags her to his apartment which he shares with his girlfriend. his apartment was much larger than hers since it was his girlfriend who bought and designed it. alexander secretly sneaked veronica to a guest room but failed as his girlfriend suddenly appeared. she was very cold and angry towards veronica since she got jealous at their relationship but allowed her to stay in the guest room anyway since alexander pleaded with her.

that night, his girlfriend secretly called her mother (which turned out to be veronica's step mom) and told her that the seeker is here. it turns out that the step mother is actually the leader of the forlorns. she went to their apartment to great her, bringing her husband along. since veronica was smile when she was abandoned, she couldn't really remember her father's face, so when he arrived, she greeted them with respect and pure innocence. but her father immediately recognized her, falling into shock.

after a few days of settling in, veronica and alexander talk where he finally explains to her that she is the last of the seekers and so he must protect her with his life. he also tells her that he truly likes her and they two share a kiss. but they were overheard by his girlfriend who quickly reports back to her mother. that night, the step mother secretly puts her under a sleeping charm and brings her to her secret room, which is sound prove, where she tortures her for the truth of where the weapons are. but veronica, who has really no idea where the weapons are, denies everything and only receives more slaps. she then orders her minions to search her old apartment where they found a locked book that veronica's mother had also left her before she died.

the step mother used another spell to unlock the book and to her surprise, the book was actually a journal of veronica's late mother. the book also includes where she hid the weapons and how to use them. she actually wanted to give the book to veronica when she turned eighteen, to show her her real world and teach her how to control her powers but never got the chance.

veronica spent the night at the secret room while alexander went out searching for her the next day. meanwhile, his girlfriend and the step mother went to the spot where veronica's late mother hid the weapons. when they found it, they quickly call all their forlorns and gathered at the great hall in the ruins of an old castle long abandoned. alexander still could not find veronica anywhere, that was when he decided to look at his apartment, he found the secret door and used different spells to try to unlock it but to no avail. though he was positive veronica was inside as he could feel her energy. he went to the father's room and realized that he was actually placed under a very strong love spell, making him fall in love with the step mother and forgetting and ignoring everything else while the step mother tells him lies about his ex wife and daughter. alexander manage to free him from the love spell and tries to get him to remember how to open the secret door.

after finally pleading and convincing him that he can remember, the father finally agrees and tries his best to open the door, in which he succeeds. alexander rushes to veronica and quickly free her. the two share a quick hug before veronica explains to alexander what happened. but just when they were about to leave, the step mother came back with her daughter, the three weapons in their hands, and she locked the three of them in the room. while inside, the father apologizes to veronica, saying he wasn't himself when he abandoned her and the two share a father daughter moment.

he's the rich kid in town and almost all the girls love him for not only his looks but also his talent. he is a country guitar player and he has caught the eye of not only many females but also quite a few talented singers. but he's heart has a place for only one girl.

she's a normal average girl who lives rents an apartment and has a job as a waitress in their town cafe. she recently moved to this town after being chased out of her other apartment back in her hometown. she's really just a normal ordinary girl. but what did she do to catch the talented, good looking, guy's heart you ask? well, nothing to be honest. she, unlike the other girls in town, are not really looking for boyfriends at the moment. all she wants is to pursue her dream as a professional writer. and this made her stand out from the rest of the other girls who tried so desperately hard to get his attention. by just being herself and ignoring the fact that there is a talented, handsome, guy in her neighbourhood, she caught his eye.

he began chasing after her, first being friends with her. and then being upfront with her about his feelings. many times she pushed him away or rejected him, but that didn't make him give up, it just made him want her more. after a few months, the two became really close and she finally accepted him. but then his parents tried to arrange another relationship with another rich girl, though he declined, they still went along with it, although they know he's in a relationship with the girl. his parents apparently dislike this ordinary girl a lot, saying that he should at least look for someone his level.

this made him really mad, and he decided to move in with the girl, despite his parents disapproval. however, his parents came to visit the ordinary girl a few times while she was working, telling her to stay away from their son. at first she protested, but as the visits became more often, she started having doubts. though she did not tell the guy.

the guy however, began to notice the change in her mood and emotions, saying she's not really herself. she then breaks down and tells him about his parents and also tells him that they should break up and tells him that "there are a million reasons why we should not be together. why we cannot be together." at first he rejects, saying that he will and can never break up with her. but she says it's her choice, and then leaves after telling him to move out and back into his old house.

the next morning, she found her apartment empty and a note that the guy had left for her. a few weeks passed and the guy is "happily" in a relationship with the rich girl. but whenever he looks at her, he would always think of the other girl. as for the ordinary girl, it had not been any easier. the visits from his parents have stopped but her mind is always somewhere else and had her orders mixed up a few times, almost getting her fired. and whenever the two walk pass, they would either look away or downwards, pretending not to acknowledge the presence of the other, even though deep down they wished they could be together.

a few months passed and the two barely talked, only an occasional 'hi' when he comes to the cafe she's working at. but one day, he could not take it any longer, his current girlfriend kept nagging at him to at least put effort into their relationship to give it a try, but he just can't. his heart was long taken by another. he broke up with his current girlfriend, saying he's sorry and it's not her, but him. he then rushes out to find the girl who was currently working. he rushed to her to hug her and also spinned her in the air, telling her what happened.

although his parents disapproved at first, he proved to them that the girl is not ordinary, and "she never was". the two got married a couple of weeks later.

Elizabeth was abandoned by her aunt and her husband at the age of three, after her parents supposedly died in a car accident. she had always been different, but physically nor mentally, but she's just, extra ordinary. she never fit anywhere in the orphanage thus she never had had many friends. but on the night she turned nineteen, someone visited her room window. an owl, not a normal looking owl. it had crystal blue eyes and it's whole body was covered in soft snowy feathers. she opened her window, delighted to see that an owl has taken interest in her. but what happened next shocked her to the core.

the owl transformed into a tall blonde man, probably only two years older than her. he told her not to be afraid, telling her that he is a shifter, and so is she. but before explaining any further, he dragged her towards her window, and without warning, pushed her through together with him, saying they are coming for her. just then, he shifts into a huge eagle, grabbing her in his talons. he carried her far away from the orphanage, to a place she never seen not heard before. it was a small town with a large castle like institute at the very end. he flew to and open window and gently landed her inside before shifting back into his human form.

she was about to ask him what happened when the door burst open. the leader of the shifters, merrisa, rushed in together with a handful of guards, though the owl shifter told her that everything as all right. merrisa asked some maidens to get elizabeth some decent clothings and after she changed, she went to the great hall to meet the leader who took her time to answer all her questions and doubts and explained to her what she is and she also revealed the truth about her parents.

after she finally settled down in the institute, the owl shifter, whom she learned the name was alex, teaches and trains her how to find out what are the three animals she can shift into and which one is the dominant one. he also teaches her how to control her shifts and how to use a weapon of choice, in which she chose archery. he also gives her a tour around the institute.

One day, the guards found the bodies of two dead shifters washed up at the beach. they had no cuts or bruises to show how they had died. after a few days, another one was found dead at a dumpster. likewise, they had no cuts or bruises to show how they had died.

this shows that there is a very great threat out there that wants to wipe out all shifters and possibly mankind as well.

they were siblings, with abusive parents. he was two years older than her. they looked nothing alike. he had blonde hair, while she had brown. he had blue eyes, while she had green. but then again, both of them looked nothing like their parents as well. their parents were always out drinking, they never loved each other, but because of money issues, they had to stay together. almost every night, the siblings would hear shouting and the breaking of glass. those where the fights the parents made when they were sober. when they were drunk, it's when the beatings would start.

the brother had always protected his sister her whole life. he would take the blame for her, take the beatings for her. the would do anything for her. but one night, while he was out with his friends, their parents suddenly came back drunk. they were supposed to be back late. but it was only seven when they came back. the sister was busy doing her homework while eating her dinner her brother had made when her parents came back.

they barged into her room, angry, obviously. they began shouting at her for not making them dinner and tore up her papers, making a mess in her bedroom. they continued to slap her and shout at her, until they finally left her alone, crying in her bedroom. afraid she was, but she had no way of contacting her brother. she had no mobile phone and the house phone was outside. curled up on her bed, she began to cry herself to sleep. the slap markings still visible on her arms and across her cheeks.

finally, after an hour or two, her brother finally returned home. by then, her parents were already asleep in different rooms. he quickly changed and settled down before checking on his sister. when when he entered, he was shocked to find the room in a mess and his baby sister with red marks all over her face and arms, and tried tears across her cheeks. he gently picked her up and hugged her, asking her to tell him what happened.

when she told him, tears started willing up from her eyes yet again. he quickly comforted her. the two finally decided, they would sneak out. and they began planning their escape that night. the next morning, they quickly packed their stuff and snuck out her window. they stole some money from their parents and bought a small apartment far away from their previous house.

bearers. that's what they are called, those who bear the mark. there are a total of five marks. each mark has a different ability. their marks can be found any wear on their body - chest, arm, hand, face, etc. bearers life side by side among humans, but they cannot see the marks they bear. but one day, one of the members found a new mark. on a girl's left arm. he was positive it was a mark, and also positive that it's one he never saw before. he tried following her but failed when she realized what he was doing. he was surprised actually, to find out that she could not only see him but his marks as well.

he told her about her mark but she admitted that she always thought it was a birthmark. he then went on explaining about the bearers and everything else related. of course she didn't believe him at first but when he dragged her to the institute, (each mark has one), she was starting to believe it.

but a few days later, they found two dead bodies of the same mark as they guy who found her, floating in a river. they then came to a conclusion that someone are hunting down the bearers to find that girl. what they need or want her for is still uncertain.
