Chapter 3.
Settling down.
Settling down.
After playing many jokes on eachother, laughing, and getting angry. Drake and I finally relaxed. And the best part? he stopped leaving the island. He told me he wanted to stay. I tell him he should learn to catch his own fish, but he doesn't listen. Oh well. Maybe today will be different. "Since you're so worried about your wings getting wet, I can make the fish jump out of the water, then you can catch them." he thought about it for a minute then nodded. "That could work." he said lightly. Finally he cooperated, I'd still have to do most of the work, but at least he'd do part of it. I was tired of throwing them ashore so he could eat. I dove under water after he took off and soon, he had his fill of fish and I had mine. I hopped out of the water and yawned stretching across the warm sand. "Why do you let that stick on you?" Drake asked. "that's gross." I smiled a bit."it's warm, you should come join me." I invited moving my tail out of his way. I noticed an odd hint of blush on his cheeks, but I ignored it as he crawled over and cuddled next to me. I'd never had a wolf so close before, I blinked as he snuggled closer. It was warmer than the sand. I sighed gently and closed my eyes, feeling his wing over me as he fell asleep, I felt a strange bliss. Before I knew it, I was asleep myself. The next morning, Drake had cuddled even closer to me. I couldn't help but feel a bit embarrassed, but I waited until he woke up before getting up. He blinked and gave me a confused frown before shaking his wings clear of some sand. "where are you going?" he asked me as I went to sit on the edge of the sand. "I'm just sitting. I enjoy the cool breeze in the morning as much as the warmth on the sand." I explained. Blinking a bit.. "It's nice, isn't it Drake? Not having other wolves around. Being alone." He thought for a minute then sighed. "I don't like being alone." he said lightly. "I miss my friend Avian." I looked over at him lightly.....he really didn't remember. I lowered my head. Why would he? he didn't know me that long. "I guess I just don't like feeling trapped." I explained. Drake blinked. "having other wolves around and being trapped are different." I thought about it and nodded. He was right. "I'm going to get us a snack." I said lightly before diving into the water. From my experience, any wolf other than Drake was evil.
