Blake and Brett | Tryout thread for Plumerian batch #86

As he grows Brett will stay essentially the same as he has always been. Through school he will be smart but not a genius. He will have many friends and make many connections to help him along his way. In his highschool years he will throw himself into sports with a vengeance to fill the small hole that develops in his heart as he and his brother drift slightly, although they never loose contact and Brett is still always there if Blake is in trouble. His senior yearBrett will come out to be both a swimming and football star and get offered several full ride sports scholarships to college, none of which he will take.

Instead of going to further his education Brett will leave his home to fulfill his dream of traveling the world, using money he saves up for years to start off his expedition. Brett will keep in close touch with his brother over the years, always recounting the tales of his adventures whenthey get together.

Along his way Brett will discover a deep love for science and botany.eventually he will return home and attend a prestigious college to obtain his masters and eventually earn his doctorates.

While it has not been seen what future romances will hold for him Brett sincerely hope he will one day find someone to settle down with and love unconditionally and start a family of his own with.

Chapter 1
by Sosna.
Small paws crunched on dried leafs, breathes coming in small puffs of clouds as two young Plumerians walked through the forest. The one in front was most apparent as the leader; they way he bravely strutted along, while the one hanging back was clearly reluctant to participate in the activity they were doing.
"Oh Brett," the reluctant one sighed, his head hanging low as he spoke, "why did you have to take me out here, you know I hate getting my pelt dirty!" He accused, big round eyes flaring as he puffed out his cheeks. He seemed to walk differently, jerking each paw up quickly as he flinched whenever he hit a leaf. It seemed he was scared of mud and germs; his fur was more glossy and clean out of the two.

Now Brett, the leader, seemed to not care as the brother pushed through the brush. His pelt with clumpy and held bits of moss stuck together by dried mud that caked his body.
"Blake, you're such a worry wart," he said teasingly, his big blue eyes focusing on his brother behind him. Smiling slightly, he fell back and gently nudged him, "Hey, I have a dare for you!" He said, eyes shining mischievously.

Eyeing his brother, Blake casually look away, his blue eyes drifting to the ground.
"And what would that be?" He inquired, a grin on his face.
Brett blinked, surprised his brother would agree. Seeing the perfect bait slithering on the ground, he boomed loudly, "lick that snail!"


Chapter 2

The brother's reaction was almost instant as his twin's proclamation was made. "Ew Brett! Really? Of all the things you could have made me do; I have to lick a snail?!" The less adventurous of the two almost groaned, the only response his twin giving him being a nod of the head, and obvious "yes now do it you feather butt" that seemed almost to be spoken aloud even though Brett did not speak a word until his brother grumpily poked the snail, smile no longer on his face.

Finally young Blake looked back up into his michevious brother's gaze. "Fine, but if I lick this snail you have to take a dare as well Mister Adventure!" he huffed, hoping this would cause the other to back down and somehow knowing it would only egg him on.

With a triumphant fist pump Brett practically bounced. "Oh you are so on man! Now come on and lick that snail like its the end of your life!" He encouraged his brother, picking it up and dropping it with a sticky plop into Blake's hand as the poor unknowing creature started its slow attempt at an escape from a fate it didn't know was coming.

And with a look of disgust and pure regret Blake stuck out his tongue and did exactly as his brother had wished. He licked a snail.

Chapter 3

A loud yell echoed through the forest, causing a group of birds near the source of the noise to take flight. Blake stood still, breathing heavily as he instantly dropped the snail. His eyes fiery with rage, he cranked his head towards his brother who was smirking to himself.
"This is why I don't go out!" He said, jaw clamped so tightly shut it looked like all his little teeth would shatter.
"Chill, Bro," Brett said a fluffy tail laying on Blake's shoulder as he spoke.
"How can I be chill when this is the sole reason I never go outside!" He countered, though this time it was less harsh as he looked away, embarrassed.

At this point, it would be most obvious if one was to suddenly walk in on the two, that Blake was the one who had been the subject to whatever the other had done. The way he hunched over, fur bristling while the one he faced stood straight, a face with mixed expressions. Guilt? Smugness? Laughter? Or maybe it was all three. Though at this point, Blake had a thought. A thought that made him giddy, because it was a type of thought that would make Brett disgusted.
"Fine," he snapped, eyes twinkling, "but now I get to dare you to do something!" He smirked, tail twitching happily.
"Whatever, it's not that bad! What is it then?" He said, giving a devilish smirk.
"Oh, you'll see alright!" Blake grinned, walking towards the house, smiling.

Chapter 4

A few hours later had a young Brett screaming at the top of his lungs in horror as he realized exactly what his brother had been planning. You see, while Brett knew his twin well enough to know exactly what gets under his skin Blake knew how to do the exact same to his brother. Brett had been able to deal with it good naturedly until the kissing came. "Ugh that is so groooooss" he would think to himself as the sight and after the third time he couldn't take it anymore. The normally courageous male broke and stood up and glared accusingly at his twin.

"Blaaaaake! This so wasn't faaaaair!" he pouted grumpily as he pressed the power off button. "Ugh, you are so horrible at this daring thing! This whole thing was so terrible!" he grumbled out with arms crossed over his chest. Sometimes he really didn't know if his twin had any sense of fun or humor.

"Oh Brett, c'mon, it wasn't that bad! I really enjoyed it so you can't be complaining when you enjoyed seeing me lick that stupid snail!" the other Cumin twin responded back, crossing his arms and mimicking the other boy in a fit of very rare defiance that he only showed with his brother.

"Can we just call this whole thing a bust?" They called out at the same time to each other. After a moment of silence two twin smiles split across their faces in perfect timing to one another and suddenly all for forgiven as they broke out into laughter.

We've worked long and hard on our form and though it may not be the fanciest thing we have put a lot of love into these two and really hope that you have enjoyed reading about the two characters that we have created. We'd also really like to thank Syra, for designing them, and a huge thank you to Doggeh and Snow! for giving us the chance to love and adopt them!
