Hey weird scroll that I found randomly on the ground. You don't mind if i record my life in here, right? Okay cool. The description on this scroll says that if I write on here it will be put onto a website in another Dimension. Oh well.
So... I live in the land of Rapids. Yup, pretty dumb name, right? Yeah, well it's a pretty dumb place. I live in the town Flytter. I'm Crystal by the way. Here's a picture of me:
What? How can I take a picture of myself? You think we don't have technology? That's insane. We may live in a fantasy land but almost everyone uses electronics here. Well, except for wizards... Apparently, that's the one form of magic they can't seem to figure out so they just stick with their dusty books and old scrolls.
Only one wizard rules the land and her name is the Great Wizard Silvera. I would hate that name. I kinda named myself Crystal since my parents died from a troll attack. Yeah, yeah, it's sad I don't want to talk about it. I want to become a knight to protect that from happening to others, but the problem is... I found a fairy. Or rather, the fairy found me when I was really little.
See, when a fairy finds you, it means that your destined for greatness... And the problem is that the only 'greatness' you will ever become is either a prince, a princess or a wizard. The wizard school is full, and I'm sorta stuck with being a princess. It's the law so I can't do anything about it. I want to be a knight and live out my dream but I can't do that if I'm learning proper etiquette and "manners".
I've been avoiding going to princess school for a very long time though, it's like a boarding school. But it's only a matter of time before they find me and Rose. Whose rose? Oh she's the fairy next to me in the picture. All fairies are named after some thing in nature by the way. Yeah so back on topic, if they find me and Rose then we're forced to go because apparently it's "law". I don't even know why. It's dumb to me.
Speaking of which, word on the street is that they are doing a Fairy check today. See I found this new perfect hiding spot for-
I heard a knock on the door. I put down this scroll, and went to answer it. Luckily, It was only my neighbor. She looked like she was nervous or something.
Me: Are you okay, Meredith?
Meredith: my-uh my... Flowers are dying and I need.. Your um.. Fairy to sprinkle pixie dust on it.
Me: Meredith.. Not so loud! Don't you know that we have hide from the guards today? If they catch us then my dreams are crushed, this house will become property of the Great Wizard, and neither of us will be happy. But... Sure. I guess Rose could sprinkle some dust over your garden, just keep quiet.
Rose sparkled out of my food pouch and twirled around me.
Rose: Finally, fresh air!
Rose has a very high pitched voice. It's really entertaining when she talks to you all day. Besides my neighbors, my only friend is Rose. She's the sweetest fairy-
Rose: *throws a pebble at me* You ought to think twice before you shove me in a bag with rotten meat. There's no air!!!
Okay... Sometimes she a little feisty and likes to complain a lot...
Me: Okay, okay. I'm sorry, I just have make sure your hidden.
Rose: I don't understand what's so bad about becoming a princess anyway. If I were a human, I'd want to be a princess.

Meredith: O.o Sorry to interrupt your... Important... Conversation but I could really use some fairy dust.

She shook some dust off her wing and lifted the gentle glitter to the tips of her fingers.
Rose: Just a speck of that will fix whatever happened to your garden.

She left, skipping to her garden... Which was completely alive. Two guards popped out of the bushes.
Guards: Crystal Starstone you are ordered to go to the Princess Academy for having a fairy.
Me: Oh great... Your rules are so ridiculous that Next your going to make everyone who has blonde hair become a greeter into the kingdom.
Guards: *coughs* we already did that.
Me: Well, this is awkward. Who made these rules anyway?
Guards: We follow The Great Wizard Silvera's orders.
Me: Well she doesn't sound so "great".
Guards: are you performing treason as well?
Me: Really? You thought that was treason? I've had enough of this, take me already.
A special tiara made of magical rainbow dust collected from the Land of Lepherchania formed onto my head. Can't explain it. Just roll with it.
Me: Oh greattt... Rose, why did you have to be a fairy?
Rose: How is this my fault?
Me: because I'm too proudful to take responsibility.
Rose rested on my head, lying in my new tiara.
Rose: Ohh... Look at the diamonds!
Rose has some sort of obsession with gemstones, it's weird.
Guard: Pack your things
Me: if having my fairy was against the law should I be going to jail and not "Pretty-princess boarding school"?
Guard: all school is like jail to a kid.
Well, he's pretty darn right about that.
Me: Ughhhhh.. fineee
So they took me to school-jail. Which was weird because it wasn't at all like a jail. There was going to be a beautiful room with a chandiler, you get your own complementrary food and fluffy chairs in it and everything. Yup, living the jail dream.
Anyway, before I get to my room we have to be greeted by the head Princess director and the teacher for all our classes, Princess Cindy. Here's a picture:
We waited for a little while and I slipped through the crowd and went to the back, somewhat near a pole. Someone came over near me.
???: Hey. I'm Coal.
Me: I'm Crystal. Though, you can call me Kris I guess.
Coal: Cool. So what are you here for?
Rose fluttered by and clutched the diamonds on the railing. She stroked them like they were her children.
Me: I'm going to be a princess *sighs* What are you here for?
Coal: I'm a shapeshifter. I have to be a spy for the kingdom because of it. You sound just as enthusiastic about being here as am.
Me: I thought this school was princess only. And they forced you here?
Coal: No... It's a school for any enchanted creature. They are all forced here to do some kind of kingdom job. And yeah, I was.
Me: Oh. Ya' know, that still doesn't make this place feel any better. Do you get to train with knights?
Coal: Yeah... For the fighting part of the spy job.
Me: Cool! I've always wanted to be a knight.
Coal: I've always wanted to work in the village or be a solo adventurer.
Me: That sounds good too. How many princesses go here?
Coal: Not many. I'd say about 15. But there are tons of students that are all mythical creatures.
Me: Interesting.
Cindy had got up to speak and I noticed the crowd was full.
Me: Wow, We talked for a while. I'll catch you later, Coal.
Coal nodded and slipped into his part of the crowd.
Cindy: Welcome to the Academy for Enchanted Beings.
I crouched down at the bottom of the crowd.
Me: BOOOOO!!!!
I quickly got back on my feet and tried to act casual.
Cindy: Whoever said that, you'll have detention the first day.
She gave me a death glare. I shrugged my shoulders and acted like I was innocent.
Cindy: Now, at this academy, we expect you to listen and follow instruction...
She was still eyeing me.
Cindy: Show respect, responsibility, and grace.
More death glare.
Cindy: You will all recieve a room with a roommate. Enjoy your stay-
Another glance at me.
Cindy: And do behave.
She left and a magical card appeared in all our hands telling us our room number and tower. I was tower 2 and room 08 I hope my roommate isn't an obsessive princess that I end up hating. I walked up to the tower and opened the door. The place may have looked small on the outside but it was HUGE on the inside.
I took the elevator to room 08. It spirals in a circle inside the tower and stops right next to your room. I jumped onto the stairs and walked into the room.
THIS PLACE WAS THE SIZE OF A MANSION!!! It was pretty darn amazing. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a dining room, a living room, kitchen, a game cave, an electronic room, a music room, an archery room, a pool with a hotub, and an art room! It was amazing!!! There were 2 keys on the table and a few color and carpet swatches. Right when I was about to grab it, my roommate walked in:
???: Woah! Look at this place.
Me: It's amazing, right?
???: Oh. Your my roommate, right? I'm Xylia.
She did a little curtsy and looked at me as if I was going to do the same.
Me: Nice to meet you, I'm Crystal.
I held out my hand.
She smiled gave it a firm shake.
Xylia: Thank God your not like the others!
She relaxed into a fluffy chair.
Xylia: I've had enough Princessing already.
Me: Tell me about it.
Rose fluttered off my crown.
Rose: it's not so bad being a princess.
Me: Rose, go take a nap or something.
I saw Xylia's fairy flutter off her and go up to Rose.
Me: What's your fairy's name?
Xylia: Sunny. She can be a handful.
Sunny: what an exaggeration. If anyone's a handful around here, it's you!
She rolled her little eyes. Rose and her talked and fluttered around the house.
Me: Soo... What's up with the swatches on the table?
Xylia: I don't know, maybe we should find out.
We both got up and walked toward the table. Xylia pointed to a peacock blue and suddenly and The whole room changed color into the blue.
Me: Woah!!!
I picked up a very fluffy white carpet swatch and pointed it at the floor. It appeared in front of the doorway.
Xylia: This is amazing, no beyond amazing it's...
Me: Magic.
So obviously, the girlish side of us came out and we decorated the whole place until it was absoulutely beautiful and we both sorta drifted into the kitchen.
Me: So... What do you like to eat?
Xylia: What do we have?
I looked at the cabinet, there was a keypad on it.
Me: Tell me a food.
Xylia: Oreos.
I typed in Oreos on the keypad and the Cabinent opened with a package of Oreos.
Xylia: THATS AWESOME!!!
Me: I love this place.
Maybe pretty princess boarding school won't be so bad after all.
Xylia: You know, you really ought to change... I mean, we are at a Princess school.
Me: Ugh... Fine.
Xylia: I can help you...
Me: Okay. What dresses do you have?
We went to her room and to her closet. She opened it up and TONS of dresses and Princess decor.
Xylia: MAKEOVER TIME!
So she put a bunch of different outfits on me:
Xylia: It doesn't look bad.
Me: I look like I'm attending a funeral.
Xylia: Fineee... How about this?
Me: Ew.
Xylia: Okay... And this?
Me: I don't know. It doesn't really say "me". If you know what I mean.
Xylia: Okay. How about this one?
Me: Ohhhhh... This looks nice. Where did you find this dagger?
Xy: it came with it.
Me: Cool.
Xy: Yeah. *yawns* I'm tired. We should probably get some rest.
Me: I'm gonna walk around a little and explore the school.
Xy: Okay. Don't get into trouble.
I went to walk out of the room.
Xy: and Crystal,
Me: Yeah?
Xy: Your a good roommate.
She smiled and we both left to go our separate ways. I went outside of the tower and onto a ledge that was on the side of the castle. I sat looking at the stars for a little while.
Coal: You know, it's dangerous for a girl to be alone in the dark.
I turned and looked at Coal.
Me: Ha-ha.
I motioned for him to come sit next to me. He went over by me.
Coal: Where do you come from?
Me: Full story?
Coal: Full story.
Me: Well, I used to live very far off in the woods, but at a young age my parents died from a troll attack. I raised myself with the help of my fairy, Rose. The soliders started cutting down many trees there and they found me and relocated me to a private commoner house in the downtown area. Of course, I couldn't get a job or pay any bills so my house was taken by the bank. I went to school a bit and tried to survive. I mostly lived in Alleyways and begged for food. Finally, I decided that I would build my own house. It turned out to be more of a shack with a tiny bedroom and a doorway. I had a small pile of food I had fished out of the garbage and that was it. This princess thing is really spoiled. It's a lot different than what everyone gets down in the kingdom.
Coal: That sounds rough. As a shapeshifter, you try to blend in with the crowd so you won't be noticed by guards. But as soon as I get sick, the cover is blown.
Me: What do you mean?
Coal: With every sneeze, you turn into something else!
Me: Wow that's crazy.
Coal: Yeah, my parents are worried about me. They're upset because they became spies for the kingdom and well... Let's just say it wasn't pretty.
Me: Hm.
We sat for a moment in silence.
Coal: So, do you look at the stars often?
Me: Always. They're the one thing besides my fairy that's never left me or betrayed me. And... They never will.
Coal: Betrayed you?
Me: My neighbor turned me in to the guards today, and people used to tell me on the streets to "take heart and have hope" when they stole whatever money I collected. I just shrugged and dealt with it. How else would I survive if I cried about everything?
Coal: You had it rough.
Me: I don't need any pity. It's not a sob story, it's real life.
Coal: that may be true, but you also have to remember, that's it's not wrong to open up your defenses. If you keep them all bottled up, they'll explode one day.
I smiled.

We sat for the rest of the night looking at the stars. I would have another big day tomorrow, included with a detention.
