Chapter 6
The pixies stared at the design until it was beyond dark outside. Even through the storm they could hear crickets chirping quietly. Stifling a yawn, Diondra stood. "I think its time we got some sleep." she said quietly, a yawn escaping her lips.
"I couldn't agree more." said Kenneth.
He stood and walked over to Diondra, yawning as he did. Aella had gone to bed a short while before, but Akitla was still staring at the blueprints. "Akitla, don't you think we should be headed to bed?" whispered Diondra.
Akitla stirred slightly and looked up from the design, blinking away a few traces of sleep. She yawned and stretched, standing beside the table. "What was that?" she asked through another loud yawn.
Diondra giggled as her sister yawned. "I should have known," she said, shaking her head. "Sleeping on the job."
"No wonder it was so quiet." said Kenneth jokingly.
Akitla looked at Kenneth and shoved him, daring him to make another comment. All the while, Kenneth and Diondra were laughing. Moving towards her room, Diondra looked at Kenneth. He saw the look in her eyes and stopped fooling around. It was very late and they had to meet Rian at noon in Palm Tree Cove the next day. Kenneth walked with Diondra towards her room and gave her a quick kiss before retreating down the hall to his own room.
"Good night." he called, yawning.
"Good night." she called back before turning towards the nursery. She wanted to check on Kiran before she went to bed.
