Entry 3
Alright Journal.
Let's get down to business.
First off -surprise surprise- guess who DIDN'T get into advanced math?
This girl!
Ah well- only about 5 out of the 15 people in my class got into advanced math. Steven, Cail, Chris, Sam, and Jon.
But anyway, I suppose I should write about what I know. Gossip I've heard, people's relationships, etc.
The problem is I've got no idea.
I really don't know anyone yet. I mean, I know who they are. and they're nice, and talk to me. But I don't KNOW stuff yet.
Apparently though, on the end of the first week of school, the whole school goes to Camp Barney for the weekend. Evidently that's when everyone really 'connects' and 'gets to know each other'.
I think I might be dreading that.... just a bit.
I mean friends are fun... but it sort of feels forced when you go to such a small school. Like, "Be friends with these 14 people or have no friends."
And so everyone is friends- even if they don't really like each other.
Oh well. That's life I guess.
Anyway, we get 'Before Lunch Outdoor Free Time'. Basically recess for big kids.
Now, usually the class splits in half. Half the class goes and sits on a bench under the flagpole. Half the class goes and plays basketball. And because I find the idea of sitting awkwardly among virtual strangers while we all 'talk', I usually find myself playing basketball instead.
It's mainly me, Harry, Tim, Chris, Sam, Mike, and a underclassman named Dakota. So a little less than half. Oh well.
Anyway, here is Dakota.
He speaks very... monotonously. But makes frequent sarcastic comments. Deadpans all the time.
He's actually our age, but he was held back in kindergarten or something.
Anyway, I'm going to pack for Camp Barney, so I'll write later.
Ta-ta.
I don't know why I wrote that.
Bye.
Entry 4
So I realized that I hate packing. Really, I do.
You have to stuff as much as you can into a small duffle bag, and you don't know what you'll need.
So stuff for most weather. Extra shirts in case you mess one up. Pajamas (Or, in my case, another T-shirt and athletic shorts)., and cosmetics.
Now I do not wear much make up.
But I do have face wash, toothpaste/brush, deodorant, hair brush and ties, lotion (I have bad skin), and liquid foundation.
This is actually pretty minimalistic for a girl- but still takes up a lot much needed room in my small blue sports bag.
I ended up carrying my pillow and sleeping bag.
But that's the boring stuff. You want to hear the INTERESTING stuff.
I'm writing this from camp, but I'll describe to you what happened this morning.
I got there at about 8, which is on time. And myself, along with a gaggle of others, all went into the foyer to wait. I was quickly brought into a conversation with a few girls, plus Jack and Steven. Jack and Steven always seemed to be around the girls. Curious.
Anyway, I don't quite recall the whole conversation. But at one point, Ella told me she didn't remember my name, and asked what it was. Before I could answer, Jack said,
"It's Kim, Ella. Like Kim Kardashian."
Instantly Ella grinned teasingly.
"Oooh. So you just compared her to Kim Kardashian? Guess we all know how Jack feels about the new girl."
Jack sort of stuttered and fumbled for words, before saying, "That's not what I meant!"
But he said it while laughing and the conversation continued.
After that we all loaded up our things and climbed on the bus. I sat next to an under classman, Bethany, who had recently adopted me as her best friend.
I'll write more about it later.
Bye!
