🎪🎆What's their circus like and what's their performance act?:🎆🎪
~
Brightly colored clubs flew up and down over and over again in a circular motion, captivating the younger gators that surrounded the pink and off-white striped costumed performer. Chip-tune circus music played loudly in the background, and the gleeful sounds of children laughing and playing flowed throughout the fairgrounds. Once the performer had finished her juggling act, she caught all the pins and took a bow, sending the kids into a clapping frenzy. "How do you do that?" "That was amazing!" "Do it again! Do of again!" The children wanted the performer to put on another act, but as they were all begging, the children's parents began kindheartedly ushering them to other attractions. No longer with a crowd around her, the costume wearing gator smiled and made her way over to the performer's tent, the designated area for the circus employees to go when off performance hours, or if they just need to powder up. Proudly flipping the clothe flaps aside, the pink gator strutted inside and over to the snacks table, having her eyes already set on the little, flaky, sweet cherry pie cubes. As she began grabbing a plate, two small hands grabbed onto her arm and began playfully pulling on it, "Popee! I saw your little juggling act you did for the kids on your free time, and, may I say, that was very nice of you." Popee looked down at the voice to see that it was her main performance partner, Kedamono. Smiling somewhat shyly and rolling her eyes, the tall pink gator grabbed a plate and began putting little pie squares on it, "Yeah, I know. I love seeing kids enjoying themselves, and it also gave me something to do on my off time." Kedamono happily laughed, and gave Popee a playful pat on the back, "Well, I'm glad that you did that! You sure did make some of those kids trip, and I bet they'll be super excited when they see you out in the ring." With a pie cube in her mouth, Popee nodded and happily replied, "Mmmphmm! I bemph they will be!"

The show was beginning soon. Popee stood behind the curtains with her hands clenching her roughed up juggling pins, a stern and focused look on her face. She was going to impress them. She was going to impress all of them. Especially '
Him'. Just thinking of that man sent chills of anger exploding down Popee's back. Tapping her foot, the tall and lengthy gator counted the seconds down till the show, '...Five, four, three, two, one'. Once Popee got to one, she forced a gleeful smile upon her face as the curtains swung lazily open. Ghostly faces filled the concrete bleachers, their transparent figures blending into one another. Strutting out into the middle of the stage, Popee faced to each corner of the stage before bowing and then throwing her first pin into the air. Beginning to juggle the ginormous pins, the performer smiled out at the crowd. A few of the figures were clapping, but not '
Him'. That's not enough, not enough for Popee. Sweat began to bead on Popee's forehead as she looked around the ring. Fire... Fire! They'd love to see her juggling flaming pins, wouldn't they? Especially '
Him'. Cocking her head towards Kedamono, who was standing behind the curtains backstage, she gave him a look that spoke, bring the fire. Kedamono's mask drooped in unwillingness, but he didn't want to take this away from his friend. Running out into the ring, the figures sat in almost silence as the blocky purple gator began to light the many pins ablaze. With the emence heat beating down onto her face and through her torn outfit's gloves, Popee was having trouble keeping a smile on her face. Looking into the crowd, the fire juggler studied the audience, more of them were clapping now, a couple of the smaller figures even cheering in awe, but not '
Him'. Popee began clenching her teeth. Maybe the man would have liked to see Popee catch the pins on fire herself. It was too late for that now, obviously. Sweat began matting the pink gator's straight blond bangs. Her eyes darted nervously around the ring looking for something else that she could add to her act. A balancing act! Yes! She could balance on a ball, yes, yes... on... on the tightrope! Nobody could have possibly have tried to juggle flaming pins while balancing on a ball while rolling across a tightrope! That man will have to be impressed! "Bring me the balancing act ball, Kedamono! And make sure that the tightrope is up." Kedamono's mask switched from sad pity to utmost confusion with Popee's words, but, not wanting to let her down, he ran backstage to go fetch Popee the ball and to set up the tightrope.
After about five minutes, Kedamono ran back over to his pink friend and told her that the ball was waiting for her on the tightrope platform. A desperate and wild smile split across Popee's face as she ran over to the tightrope latter. Holding three of the flaming pins in her mouth and four others with her tail, the wild-eyed gator climbed up to the platform, and climbed atop the ball. Keeping her balance steady, the performer took her flaming pins from her mouth and tail and began to juggle them as she rolled the ball beneath her across the rope. The crowd erupted into cheering and clapping, their figures blurring into a furious blob of whistling and appraisal. But not '
Him'. That one gator was just sitting there, seemingly unimpressed. Seeing this, Popee's mind and heart both cracked into two, the visions of a crowd and sounds of them all cheering vanished, and the hole world seemed to sink in on itself as everything darkened around that one figure. Dropping all of her pins, the distressed gator put her hands up against the sides of her head, and she began to breath in furiously. "No!" She shouted as the figure stood up from his seat, "No! No! No! I'm better than this, trust me! I'm entertaining! I can entertain you! Just wait-" before the pleading girl could finish her sentence, the man's figure left, leaving the tent empty and quiet, the only two souls left inside being Popee and Kedamono. Sitting atop the ball, Popee put her face in her hands and began to angrily cry. She couldn't impress '
Him', again. Everything she does never seems to be enough for him.
Kedamono watched his anguished friend cry while standing behind the curtains of the main stage. A sad but pitiful mask was placed on his face, and it wasn't an unusual or rarely used one. In fact, ever since that man came to the circus, Kedamono has used that mask more and more often, to his disliking. Not wanting to disrupt his friend's time of disturbed sulking, Kedamono let his head hang low as he slowly closed the curtains, separating the backstage from the main stage. Popee's tears could still be heard through the thick velvet fabric.
Popee cried, and she screamed. Nothing she did could impress '
Him'. That man. That... that... thing. Ever since he showed up one day to attend the circus show, Popee's attitude towards everything had never been the same. Before he came, Popee was the circus juggler, a clown of sorts. She used to love and play with the kids, and she loved to hear them laughing as she played her minor role in the main act. But, now, after that man did not laugh, applaud, or even simply smile at anything she or any of the other circus members did, Popee's become so frantic and pridefully obsessed with getting that man to laugh, that she's taken on almost every role in the circus. The juggler, fire breather, tightrope walker, trapezist, balancing act, knife thrower, stunt devil, gator canon, sword swaller, you name it, she has probably performed as it.
Before the start of every show, she would ask if 'He' was there. Most of the other staff would have no idea what she was talking about, except for Kedamono, who saw the man's unenthusiasm, but didn't think much if it at the time. But everytime Popee would get in the ring, she would begin to perform her act far more extravagantly than how it was supposed to be performed, and she would steal the spot light from the other performers, and she even began to steal their acts, which lead to her having so many acts and the retirement of many of the staff. They just couldn't put up with Popee's obsessiveness to appease that man.
Now the circus is a two man show, that never has any audience, because Popee is always performing for the fictional audience her mind has made up, and for a fictional '
Him'.
