One year before
The wind flew past us,
weaving through our fur in a playful way.
It was a feeling that was familiar to us both.
For this spot, was ours. This was the place that me
and my sister always escaped to.
It was a place that felt like home, it took away out pain.
It was our fantasy story in our lives full of reality.
Our place, was not far from home but it wasn't close either.
Our place was a small cliff that jutted out of a forest
but overlooked another one too.
Long grass, that was half our size
covered the entire cliff. Then on the very top of the cliff
was a single willow tree.
Under that willow tree was where they sat,
and where they were sitting now.
This time, they ran away to their place for Akura. Pain swelled
in her heart tenfold. Earlier that day reality had crashed down
harder than it had before and it crushed her and her dreams.
"They said that I would never fly.
They said my wings weren't real." She cried.
"They said that I was meant to be an outcast not an
angel."
Her sister had a scowl on her. "He shouldnt have said that,
I dont think he meant you being an outcast, but sister..."
"What?" Akura snapped." You're going to tell me my
wings will never be real?"
"Sister. You're growing up! someday you'll have to accept it,
sooner than later."
More tears ran down. "Don't say that sister, please don't.
Someday my wings will be real, and I will soar! I will go
many places and be the angel I always wanted to be!
I will travel the world! please don't say that my dream
wont be real."
Her sister sighed " Alright Akura. If thats what you
want then I wont say anything, Ill accept it and help
you with this dream. Starting now." She handed over
a leather-bound journal.
"Thank you sister, but what is this for?" She asked,
puzzled.
"When you go on these adventures draw pictures for
me, I want to be apart of these adventures with you
even if I cant leave home."
Tears spilled again but these were happy ones.
"Thank you sister." As she said the words they hugged.
There in the first page of the journal she sketched
the scene from the cliff, with her sister and her in it.
There she signed at the bottom the name, Anzhela.
After that moment that was the last the sisters saw
each other. For She spread her wings and they
reached farther than they ever did before.
