      I can't believe it. Serious.
Your scenes are just awesome, I swear I have wet eyes from laughing.
      This is gold-worth. Loved it.
It is amazing how good you are with humour - I am more the serious stuff writer with maybe a little funny passage, but far away from yours.
      Love it, I really do.

@ captain: shhh you are really funny too, your stories are really funny and easy to read because of this
gosh O.o you are such a talented artist too

@nan oh lord I really hope you weren't going off the drawings in my oekaki gallery those are so old and... eew

And thanks both of you xD

and yes Asherwy you have an incredible talent for humor. Mine is generally involuntary and a totally different kind. I quite enjoy your sense of humor x]
    ... I'm funnier when I talk
All my "funny" characters are just sassy or... not so bright xD
But yeah totally can't wait to see more :DD
... It would be fun to find a way to tie these all together in some kind of weird story
... idk why I just thought that but I did and figured Id share
... I'm still particularly intrigued about that- what was it, the second or third? Idk the candy one with the fight
    ... yup

siren and ky

Siren didn't answer, she was too concentrated on getting to the top of that hill. Besides, she found that guy particularly irritating with his happy-go-lucky attitude.

"Hey!" He repeated, running to catch up with her. "You should answer when someone calls for you, you know?" Ky complained, wheezing out his words as he slowed down next to the girl. Geez how can she walk so quickly?

She still didn't reply, her blue orbs were set on the horizon. Apparently Ky finally decided that it was time to stop talking as well, so instead he quietly followed her. Ugh, leave me alone! She thought exasperatedly. Quickening her pace, she eventually began sprinting up the slope of the hill while Ky lagged behind.

"Woah, woah! Wait for me!" Ky called helplessly, trying to match her pace. He failed miserably.

Siren reached the top of the hill first, strands of her inky black hair brushing her face as a breeze carelessly drifted by. Closing her eyes, she took a long, deep breath in the clear air. She could feel her head clearing up as she opened them again and gazed upon the rest of Stilfebush. A thick haze surrounded the trees below her, the orange and yellow flashes of fire fairies flickered between the branches. The sky was darkening as the sun sunk further into the ground, making the lights of the fire fairies all the more brighter. Hoarse breathing could be heard lower down the hill. Rolling her eyes, she turned and scowled at the poor boy who was sagging down to his feet. It looked like the Smokedrifter was actually going to turn into smoke.

"Hyuuu...huuurrrr...heeeee...." Ky dragged himself up the remainder of the hill and collapsed on the ground next to Siren as she huffed in annoyance.

"HAAAAHHHHHH...." He sighed, shutting his grey eyes while he splayed arms and legs out around him.

"Weakling." Siren muttered and returned her attention to the sky.

Ky opened one eye and peered at her defensively. "I'm not that weak, it's just you made me run too much is all." He protested feebly, the sentence trailing into several throaty coughs.

Siren merely grunted and sat down with her legs crossed. Both of them stared towards the clouds until the stars shone brightly along with the moon, which was just a sliver in the vast night sky. The crackling of the fire fairies was faint, muffled by the leaves below them.

"Look!" Ky exclaimed, pointing a finger at a cluster of stars that seemed to form the shape of a large animal that was half-man, half-beast. "There's Brendel! The first Karnell. Do you know why you guys are called Karnells?"

The girl shrugged, her icy gaze now observing the blinking firelight in the forest.

"Because when Brendel started evolving to semi-human form, he couldn't really speak so it sounded like he was saying 'KARRRRNELLLL!' Whenever he roared." He explained proudly, a huge, stupid grin appearing on his face. "I think he was actually saying 'doornail.'"

"How does that even work." She commented absent-mindedly. She was getting used to his pointless blathering.

The boy sat up and looked at the girl with wide eyes. "It does! He can't speak right? So he's probably pronouncing a word wrong!"

She didn't meet his gaze. "Why doornail?"

"Because it makes sense." Ky said simply.

      "No it doesn't."

      "Yes it does."

"Who randomly runs around yelling doornail?" She retorted, a challenging glint in her eyes.

He was silent for a moment. "Why did you leave me behind when we were going up the hill?" He whined.

"Don't change the subject! And who's 'we'?!"

"Aren't we traveling together now?" He asked cluelessly, staring at her in shock that it wasn't true.

"I don't recall ever letting you join me." Siren said, crossing her arms and fixing her gaze into the distance.

Ky peered at her for a moment longer before turning his attention to the ground in front of him. "I thought we were." He mumbled dejectedly, tearing out blades of grass in misery.

They didn't speak for a while, the sound of ripping grass filling the air around them. The was a rustling of clothes as Siren laid on the ground, shifting so that her back was facing Ky. "Stop killing the grass and go to sleep. We're leaving early tomorrow." She muttered gruffly, shutting her eyes with a frown on her face.

Ky's smoky eyes brightened and he smiled widely, placing the loose pieces of grass back on the dirt and lying down as well. A gust of cold air sent goosebumps up his body, the boy starting to shiver in the wind. Pursing his lips together, he tried to put up with the chill but failed. Craning his neck, he looked over his shoulder at Siren's back and got an idea. Scooting towards her, he pressed his back against hers and exhaled in relief as the warmth into his body once again. As soon as their backs touched, Siren's entire body hardened in surprise at the sudden warmth.

The girl's head swivelled around to glare at the boy, but all she saw was his ash blonde hair and his peaceful snores. She stared at the back of his head for a while before turning away. She desperately wanted to pull her body away from the boy's, but she couldn't. So she let him stay there.

georgina and melissa

"Take care sweetie! Mommy and daddy will be back soon okay?"

Mommy kissed me on the forehead, but daddy kissed me on my hair and took a deep sniff. He always does that. "Don't give Melissa as hard a time as you give us okay?" He said with a smile, pressing me against his chest.

      I nodded, rubbing my eyes.

"That's my good girl." He kissed me on the nose and stood back up. Mommy and daddy were all dressed up for a party they were going to, they looked really different. Mommy was really pretty. I watched them slide into the seats of our family car, waving goodbye as they backed out and drove away. Melissa was standing next to me, her hand stroking my hair as she waved goodbye too. "Alright Georgina, lets go eat your dinner and then you're getting to bed." We went inside the house, her hands on my shoulders.

I looked at the clock above the TV. It read 6:03pm. I knew it was pm because it was getting dark. I learned how to read the clock hands in class on Friday. My teacher told me I was a natural. I'm not sure what that means. Jumping onto the kitchen stool, I put both of my arms onto the counter and rested my chin on my hands, watching Melissa as she heated up some macaroni and cheese. She punched in a few numbers and pressed start, and the microwave began whirring. I could see the plate spinning inside it.

Melissa walked over to me and smiled. I like her smile. Her mouth turns up at the corners and she has a silver tooth next to her front teeth. It's really shiny. I lifted one arm and pointed to her teeth. "How did you get that shiny tooth?"

She touched it. "Oh this? I had a really bad cavity, so the dentist put a titanium coating on it." She sighed, "I got that cavity from eating too much junk food, so don't do that okay? Otherwise you'll end up like me." She laughed.

I frowned. "But I want a shiny tooth."

"But that means getting a cavity, and cavities hurt this much!" She made a large circle with her arms.

"Can I get it without having a cavity?" I asked, unconsciously touching my own teeth.

"I'm not sure about that, but if you do you can show me and we'll take a picture together, okay?" She said, smiling.

"Okay!" I did my big grin at her, squinting my eyes.

She laughed, and the microwave dinged. The microwave makes really funny noises. "Uhp! Dinner's ready!" She said and went back to the microwave, using a cloth to take out the plate. She spooned half of it onto another plate and walked back to me, putting the new plate down. I stared at the cheesy macaroni.

Melissa sat down next to me and placed the other plate in front of her, handing me a fork. "Here you go!"

I took the fork and started eating. It was really, really, really good.

Melissa started eating too. "Your mom is such a nice person. She made an extra helping for me too you know? And she made our dinner so that I wouldn't have to cook even though I said it was fine." She looked really happy, but it was a different kind of happy that I didn't know how to explain. I think it started with a 'g.'

I put the last pieces of macaroni into my mouth and pressed them against the top of my mouth to squeeze all the cheese out. Then I chewed. Melissa was done too. "You look happy." She chuckled, taking my plate and stacking it under hers. "Do you want to go up to your room while I finish washing the dishes?"

I nodded and got up on the stool, jumping down. I had to be really careful because the chair spins, and last time I got a big cut on my head. It was bleeding bad, and I cried a lot. Even though I was careful Melissa still got scared. "Be careful Georgina! You could've hurt yourself." Her eyes were really big, and they were pretty too. They were blue with whitey bits in the middle.

"I am careful." I said and walked to the staircase, getting down on all fours and crawling up the stairs. It made me feel like a cat, or a dog. I barked. Then I meowed. I could hear Melissa laughing and the water running in the kitchen sink. "What are you doing Georgie?" She asked, still laughing. I felt like it wasn't meant to be answered, so I didn't.

It was really dark on the staircase, also upstairs. My chest felt congested. I think that's how you use that word. Walking towards the light switches, I turned all of them on and sighed in relief.

Skipping to my room, I turned on all the lights there too and jumped onto my bed, bouncing up and down. I took the picture book from my bedside table and squinted at the cover. "'Goodnight Noises.'" I read the title aloud and opened the book.

I was on the page where we were supposed to say goodnight to the door noises when someone came in my room. I jumped, that really scared me. My heart was beating faster than normal, but it was only Melissa.

"You scared me!" I exclaimed indignantly. I learned that word in class today, it was really hard to spell it.

"Sorry." Melissa said. She was holding a glass of milk. It looked warm. She walked over to me and sat down on my bed, putting the glass on the end table. "Ready to sleep?"

"I haven't brushed my teeth yet. I don't wanna brush them."

Melissa giggled. "Alright then, how about you don't brush your teeth, just for tonight?"

I nodded my head really hard. "Yes!"

She laughed. "But you have to keep it a secret okay? Just between the two of us."

      "Okay."

"Goodnight then." She patted my head and got up. "If you have trouble sleeping then drink some milk okay?" She turned on my bedside lamp.

"Goodnight!" I said. She smiled and walked away, turning off the light switches before closing the door behind her.

Picking up the book again, I finished the rest of the pages and put it back, turning off the lamp. Snuggling into the blanket, I closed my eyes.

There was a soft creaking coming from my bedroom door. I looked up. "...Mommy?" I wasn't sure whether it had been long enough already for them to come home. They said the party would last until 11:00pm, and it was eight when Melissa said goodnight. A black figure stood in the doorway, but it was bright enough to see their face. It was Melissa.

"Melissa?" I squeaked. She didn't reply. I sunk deeper into my bed.

A big, toothy grin began to appear on her face, her silver tooth glinting.

I stared at her, and she stared at me with wide eyes. Her pupils looked like they shrunk. I could hear the television downstairs. Didn't she turn it off when she came up here?

Melissa didn't stop smiling. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, thinking that she'll go away when she sees that I'm sleeping, but when I opened my eyes again, she was still there. Smiling at me.

      Then she moved.

She stumbled towards me. I pulled the covers over my head and shut my eyes. The footsteps came closer and closer. After a few moments, they stopped. I peeked out of the blanket.

She was right next to me. Smiling at me. She took the cup of milk and raised it over her head. I couldn't look away. She poured it all over her, smiling. Then she seemed to collapse to the floor, but stayed on her knees. She was still looking at me, staring at me, smiling at me. She shuffled closer and closer until her face was right next to mine. My heart pounded against my chest. Her silver tooth glinted, her blue eyes shrinking further and further until they were just black dots in a sea of white. And she kept smiling.

I yanked the blanket over my head and tried to control my breathing. I couldn't hear her breaths. Looking out of the blanket again, I checked to see if she was still there. She was. And she was closer. I covered myself again. And I checked again. This time her nose was touching mine, and I looked into her big white eyes. I was shaking.

"L-l-l-leave me alone...." I whimpered. Her eyes grew bigger, and her grin wider, but she didn't say anything. She just smiled and smiled and smiled, all the way until the sun rose.

I told my parents. They called her, and she said she was watching TV the entire time.
