(Thanks y'all, I think I'll probably write another part of the story now.

May 29th --- 5:10 p.m
No clue what this diary is going to be to me now lol"They're both gone?" I responded in shock. "That's completely impossible! Explain to me how that could happen!"
"Well, first off, anything can happen," Mr. Wind said. "There could be an alien spaceship that could've taken them to their own planet."
"I don't believe in aliens, so that's completely impossible to me," I say with a bit of sass involved. I didn't want to deal with his stupid logic. "Any other stupid ideas you want me to hear?"
"Well, you're going off to foster care," Mr. Wind told me. "I'm refering to an orphanage."
"Those places still exist? That's just too funny," I said. "I'm ten. Someone will find me, love me, and make me their adopted child." At that point, I started to laugh. "My name is Haley Marie North, and I don't believe in that business."
"Well, make sure that you have all of your items, since you're off to Hollylight Orphanage," Mr. Wind said. He muttered something under his breath I couldn't understand.
I sighed and sat down on Mr. Wind's chair, waiting for the time I could leave the messy office. Files and food wrappers were all over the place, and I was just waiting for him to finish this funny business. I was starting to believe this was all some annoying prank, and that my parents would be coming for me any second. What was really coming to me at Hollylight???
May 29th - 6:47 p.m.
I'm off to the orphanage - so new countdown:
"About to spend my first day at the orphanage."I finished my McDouble from McDonald's, waiting for the car to arrive at Hollylight Orphanage. I had a sorrow feeling for wherever my parents had ended up at, and I wasn't very hungry as a result. I also had an awkward feeling beating at me multiple times for what could occur at the orphanage, since several stories I had read about children in orphanages had resulted in death, sorrow, and hunger. The one thought racing through my head was one question:
What could be there that was similar to all those orphanage tales? I personally hated violence and unhappy endings in most books, and this was racing toward me. Could I ever have that happy ending?
Mr. Wind brought me to a massive, white house- house was probably an understatement. The orphanage almost seemed to be a mansion, a place where probably all of the orphans from all over Florida ended up! A garden filled with flowers was in the front, and two tweens were outside, enjoying the scenery as they were sitting next to each other. The mansion had three floors, and I was moderately sure that the top floor wasn't just an attic! I continued to have the feeling that something was obviously wrong with the place, but the owners kept a large cover on it from the outside!
Maybe all the stories were just stereotypes... Mr. Wind strolled to the front door, while carrying one of my suitcases at the same time. That's when a young woman with long, straight, almond brown hair, green eyes, and tan skin answered the door. "Hello, is this the girl you were mentioning on the phone?" The woman said, glancing at Mr. Wind.
"Yes, this is the girl I was talking about," Mr. Wind said. "Her name is Haley North."
"Well, I'll help her get her stuff to her room," the woman said. "You may go back to your job now."
Mr. Wind left briefly after that moment, most likely happy that he didn't have to deal with me anymore. That's when the woman said to me, "Well, hello Haley. My name is Lila. I'm going to start a group meeting any second, so I'm going to lead you to the living room and we'll all gather there."
"Well, thank you, Lila," I responded with a small smile.
Lila led me to the living room, where a few teens were sitting on the couch, watching television. I was wondering what they were watching, but one looked at me immediately after sitting down. "I guess you're new around here?" A girl with blonde hair, brown eyes, and pale skin asked me.
"You could say that," I said. "I just came here about five minutes ago. Lila's starting a group meeting any second."
The girl gave another girl a look to turn off the television, which happened in the blink of an eye. "Well, I'm Lauren. I'm thirteen, in case you were wondering. The other girl over there is Harmony, and we've became good friends."
"Well, my name is Haley, and I'm only ten," I responded very quickly. "I guess our ages won't be the best thing to become friends over--"
"Well, don't worry about that," Lauren responded, interrupting me. "Some of the older... orphans take on the younger orphans as if they were friends from the start. You'll probably end up with my dorm. It's almost like mentoring the younger orphans here."
"Well, thanks," I responded. "Maybe we could become friends."
In less than five minutes, about twenty other kids are piling into the living room, and somehow there's still quite a load of space. I guess that several of the kids might've found homes lately, and I'm just the start of a new generation...
"Listen up everyone!" Lila yelled, somehow including patience. "I have quite a few announcements to make!" Everyone calmed down quickly, and I was wondering whether everyone had some practice with this before. "First off, we have a new member at the orphanage. Her name is Haley."
Everyone takes a chance to look at me, and I know that this probably isn't the best thing for me. I don't want to have all the attention, I just don't...
"Either way, the summer has finally started," Lila said after a minute of silence. "So, there isn't any more homeschooling today, and I would also like to make a couple of summer rules clear."
Everyone sighed, and I knew that these were probably new rules. "Everyone has to dry off outside, and they have to take a shower before being near the furniture outside their dorms. Any questions?"
Everyone sighed, and I guessed there was no questions.
"Haley, you will be in a dorm with Lauren and Marci. Meeting dismissed!" Lila left after that, and several kids walked back toward the dorms.
"Who is Marci?" I asked Lauren.
"She's this annoying teen who is basically just... dark," Lauren responded. "She's been through a lot to get here, I guess."
"Well, maybe someone should just be quiet about it!" A voice is said, and I'm unsure who.

(Okay everyone, quick little chapter for you all. I'm going to try and add another few entries later based on your critique.)
