Workshop Two - Day Four Exercise

If they could write a letter to their past self, what would it say:

Dear Younger Me,

I often think about what I would tell you if I could go back in time.
I wonder to myself if I would even want to risk it.
I suppose if I did write a letter, I'd send it as a message in a bottle.
Drop it in the lake you so often visit.
I'd offer you small pieces of advice,
things I'd hope you'd follow even without my letter.
Something like...

You're doing fine, kid.
Even with all my mistakes and regrets, I don't think I'd change a thing.

Just be you--just be me.
Always be your own person. Don't let others define you.

You will be treated like an adult eventually, it will just take a while for them to realize that's what you want.
Ask them to stop babying you if you feel brave enough. I believe in you.

And lastly, follow your heart.
All of these things might seem cheesy and standard, but they apply.
Go forth into the world with an open mind and an open heart.

Workshop Three - Writing Prompt
Kalon Name: Kismet & Dakota

Prompt:
Kismet first met Dakota on a vet visit. Dakota was the only veterinarian in the area willing to take a look at Pickles,
Kismet's beloved horse, who had become lame for some odd reason. After figuring out the cause of the lameness,
a colored rock lodge in the gelding's hoof, the two kalons bonded over their love of animals. They maintained
contact over social media for a long time, both too busy to meet up anywhere. After several months, Dakota and
Kismet made time to get together and just hang out. It wasn't long before these two were inseparable friends.
Kismet often came over to help out with Dakota's wildlife rehab cases, and Dakota stopped by to ride horses at
Kismet's stables. These two have each other's backs no matter what!

Has your kalon ever met their grandparents? If so, what do they think of them?


Yes, Toshie visits her grandpa James frequently, and James spoils her to death! Toshie loves
James unconditionally, and often spends the night at his house, whenever Reuben allows!

What is your kalon's relationship with their parents?


Toshie is a little distant from her father, Reuben, but she still loves him and looks up to him.
Toshie never really has contact with her other two parents, Mitten and Marysia.

Do they have any siblings? Are they blood related or adopted?


Yes! Toshie has one blood sibling, Aurelia!

Does your kalon have children? Do they/did they ever want to have kits?


Lyndon doesn't have any children, and probably isn't the type to want any,
but maybe some sweet soul will convince him in the future.

Which family member is your kalon closest to? Why?


James is closest to Reuben, because he was the one kit who stayed with him
when all his other kids left.

Is there a family member your kalon wishes they could know better? Who is it?


Toshie really wants to get to know her sister, Aurelia, better, they have only met a few times,
and that was when they were really small.

Who is your kalon's enemy/least favorite person? How did they come to feel this way about them?

Lyndon's least favorite person is... practically everybody. He never really singles anyone out, but he
has a general distaste for most of the kalons in the neighboring village. The main reason for these
sentiments is simply because they talk too much, and inquire upon his private life. Lyndon really
just doesn't want to talk with people unless he's doing business with them, and even then, it's quite
easy to get on his nerves.

Besides their best friend, who else is your kalon friends with?


James is friends with Tabby and Jamie!

What qualities does your kalon look for in a friend?


Taffeta looks for loyalty and persistence! She also prefers those with a sweet tooth similar to hers. c;

What qualities does your kalon dislike in a friend?


Paisley dislikes people who are selfish, or pretend to be her friend and use her for their own benefit.

Would they risk their life to save a friend? A stranger?


Although he considers himself to be a good person, Myrddin probably wouldn't risk his life for anyone except Pippin or Aerwyn.

Is it easy or hard to earn their trust? Why?


It's very hard to earn Adelaide's trust. She had a lot of issues as a child that developed into her having severe trust issues.
You will have to work very hard and make few mistakes for Adelaide to even begin to trust you on a personal level.

Workshop Three - Day Four Exercise

Describe their pet/companion:

Dakota has a little white kitten named Olive! She's still a kitten, so she's pretty small, but will probably
grow to be a larger cat. Dakota isn't sure what breed she is, but it looks like she has some Siamese in her.
Olive is all white, except for a few darker spots on her face and ears, and she has beautiful light blue eyes.
She's a very playful kitten, but she gets along well with the other animals in the house, thankfully.

How did they meet their pet/companion?:

Dakota actually fostered Olive for her local humane society, but ended up adopting her because of
her sweet temperament and tolerance of the other foster, rescue, and care animals.
