Prompt:

A rockstar who lives up to most of the "rockstar" expectations, Malibu adores partying
and taking advantage of the amazing parties his fame leads him to. However, Malibu
is different in the sense that he absolutely despises interviews and talking about his songs;
he has no interaction with fans and, in fact, he doesnt like them at all. He is a firm believer
in interpreting music as you wish, regardless of artist interpretation, and thinks music is a
lot more than just screaming fans and cute lead singers.
He's very reserved and closed off from most, and his emotions are usually unreadable; he
typically has an uncaring or angry aura about him that makes strangers weary and turn away
from him, which he appreciates.

Workshop One - Day One Exercise

What is your Kalon’s first, middle, and last name (if they have one)?
Malibu John O'Malley
Does your Kalon have a human appearance as well? If so, what do they look like?
He does, xx
he's rather tall and very lanky and thin, and he has large hands and long fingers
that make it easy for him to play guitar. his hair is dyed bubblegum pink, but was once
brown like his eyebrows. his eyes are a hard gold, glittering and light.
Does you Kalon have any family members? If so, blood related or adopted?
No family besides his mate, Terry, and his two children that he loves dearly.
Who is your Kalon the closest too? Why?
He's closest to the love of his life, Terrance.
What sort of occupation does your Kalon have? Do they enjoy it?
Malibu is the frontman of a retro, 70s inspired band that is very popular and well-known.
He writes songs, plays guitar, and sings. He loves his job, but dislikes many aspects of it
because he's a private person in a career that doesn't like to give personal space.
List some of your Kalons likes and dislikes and give an explanation as to why.
likes: guitar, music, singing, hair dye, baseball, hockey, sunglasses, terry, string instruments, dogs
dislikes: pop/metal/country music, people who try way too hard, cats, alternative style, showing emotion
Malibu doesn't take well to kinds of music that aren't his own genre. He can play pretty
much any instrument, but his specialty is string instruments. He likes watching hockey
and baseball because as a child he wanted to be a professional hockey player as well as a musician.
He doesn't like showing emotion because he sees it as a weakness in his character, although it isn't.
What is your Kalons biggest weakness and strength?
His biggest weakness is how self-centered and shallow he is often. He has a bad habit
of only looking out for himself and not bothering to worry about anyone else.
His biggest strength would be his kind heart and his talent.

Write about a time when your Kalon(s) lost something important or someone close to them:


Coco doesn't like to talk about it. He doesn't like to talk about why his family no longer speak to him, or why he doesn't live with them as a young teenager should. He doesn't like to talk about how he ended up on the streets. He says he hates them for how they treated him, and he has every right to. However, surprisingly enough, he does miss one family member dearly. His dog.

Coco loved his dog -- no -- Coco loves his dog. He's had him since he was a pup and they were inseparable. When he first started school, he'd even sneak the pup into his backpack often in order to have him close.
Coco tried to take his dog with him the first time he was kicked out, but his mother managed to take him back. Coco returned home soon after.
The last time, the final time Coco left home, he had to leave his precious pooch behind. The dog sat in the doorway as Coco was screamed at and all his things littered the lawn. The dog whimpered, confused by the noise, however it still wagged its tail when Jericho looked over to it. He was on a leash, tugging softly, trying to get to his boy... but it was no use.
Coco cried when he left, not because of the threats that he'd be hurt if he returned, not because the insults his parents hurled at him, no, because his pooch wasn't wagging his tail anymore.

Do they keep promises, or break them? Why? He's super bad at keeping secrets, but with promises he's loyal.
Are they a leader, follower, or loner? Why? Definitely a leader. He is confident and outgoing; people often like him before they even speak to him simply because of how he carries himself.
If they could change one thing in their past, what would it be and why?
Do they care what others think of them? Why or why not? Henley definitely cares about the opinions of others -- his whole career depends on his fans liking him. It's hard to be a star in hollywood without a strong backing from fans.
Do they tend to argue with others or do they avoid conflict? He definitely argues to get his way. He's rather entitled and feels he's always right.
Are they more spontaneous, or are they the type that always needs a plan? He's definitely is spontaneous. However, he usually knows when he needs to form a plan and when he can just go with his gut.
Do they have any quirks, mannerisms, habits, or other defining characteristics? Henley has some definite quirks. He doesn't look people in the eye when he's nervous, and typically fidgets with whatever is around him. He likes total silence, and if he's concentrating or sleeping, he demands it.

Write about them interacting with their favorite thing:

It was his favorite day of the month, and Lennon was excited. He was making sure everything was spick-n-span for this special day! All the counters were polished, the food bowls filled, the animals brushed -- all ready for Adoption Day!

Adoption Day was his favorite day out of all days -- he loved watching all his animals get new homes and, almost more importantly, watching every animal in his pet shop, from puppies to pythons, get the love they deserve!!

He patted the head of a corn snake with his finger, and chirped softly back at a toucan, and smiled.

It won't be long now before the future parents of all these animals get here and meet their new best friends.
