Workshop One - Writing Prompt

Prompt: (write out their personality in any amount of words)

ah, auri. she's the one who would stand around awkwardly when the teacher asked people to get up and find a partner, and would end up with the kid who ate his own snot. she's the one who would always choose to work alone, even if it meant a bigger burden for her to carry. she's the one who went around sticking post-it notes carrying kind messages on other kalon's lockers, no matter if she knew you or knot.
she's also the one who fell asleep and snored as loud as a screaming kookaburra when the teacher started a class discussion about politics. she hates politics, ok?

no matter how many times she's told the so called, "feminazis," some unbiased reasons as to why they are wrong and been replied to with screeching about things that aren't even true, she'll still keep at it with trying to rid society of them and find true equality for all. auri is a persistent one, who will also use this persistence to attempt to murder you if you attempt to hurt someone she considers innocent.

the only thing she will not persist in is convincing herself to go out in public unless she absolutely has to. she's resorted to dating sites for finding a future husband. she almost always works in the back rooms of the library, and can barely hold a conversation with someone unknown. the few times she has to work at the check-out station, she brings a list of pre-planned small talk to read off while checking out the books. although it's difficult for her to do so, she still engages in little conversations using her list.

maybe auri's not the perfect kalon who donates to charity and whatsnot, but she will always at least attempt to make a difference. except when that involves politics. because she no longer wants to hear your whining about being politically correct.

in all, auri is just a persistent kalon who always tries to do what's right.

Workshop One - Day One Exercise

What is your Kalon’s first, middle, and last name (if they have one)? auri snowhail, although i'm likely going to change the last name. she has no middle name.
Does your Kalon have a human appearance as well? If so, what do they look like? auri has no human appearance, as i am uninterested in drawing creatures as a whole different species.
Does you Kalon have any family members? If so, blood related or adopted? auri has no family at the moment. she'll eventually find a mate and likely have kits, though.
Who is your Kalon the closest too? Why? [url]c[/url]alista hewitt is auri's close friend. i don't have much yet, but they usually meet up at the library and probably discuss good books and whatsnot.
What sort of occupation does your Kalon have? Do they enjoy it? auri currently works as a librarian. it's ok, although some of the kalons coming there make her want to punch a hole through the wall. auri also has to drive into town every day to get there, as she lives in the countryside.
List some of your Kalons likes and dislikes and give an explanation as to why.
likes :

1. hot chocolate : a nice cup of cocoa on a cold day gives auri that warm fuzzy feeling inside. plus it's an excuse to eat marshmallows.
2. cats of all kinds : auri is a lover of adorable things, and cats are most definitely adorable. even the sphynx cats will find a place in her heart. the norwegian forest cats are auri's favorite, and she's looking to adopt one.
3. eating ice : auri tends to eat ice to help control her anger at how awful some of the library customers. being able to take out anger on ice cubes is better than on customers.
4. auroras and their colors : the colors of the aurora are some of auri's favorite colors. she doesn't see it for herself often, but she still finds the northern lights to be stunningly beautiful.

dislikes :

1. the beach : auri hates having sand between her toes. she finds the feeling to be undescribably bad, like nails on a chalkboard.
2. noodles : there is just spmething about noodles that ticks auri off. perhaps it's the weird sickly pale yellow color or the fact they are served in a pool of "red glop," as she calls it.
3. politics : don't even get auri started on politics. it will result in a long speech about how politics are clogging up the news, how america cant even elect a half decent president, and various other things with it always ending with, "just please quit it with the political stuff! i don't want to hear about it unless it concerns me, ok?"
4. ignorant little kids/babies (and sometimes their parents) : most definitely auri's most hated thing, the cry of an idiotic newborn is one that will seriously tick her off. she believes that, "if your dumb spoiled little baby won't shut up, don't be taking it everywhere you go! guess what, nobody wants to hear your kid whining! it is not that hard to take your damn child outside and calm them down or hire a babysitter to make sure they don't go drinking borax-bleach smoothies!" needless to say, auri would probably not fare well with children of her own.

What is your Kalons biggest weakness and strength? auri's biggest weakness would have to be her extreme clumsiness. she has dropped an innumberable amount of plates, glasses, and other things, so many that she uses recyclable plastic plates instead of her few ceramic ones.

auri's biggest strength would be her ability to write. she takes some online writing classes, which have helped her improve. some have told auri thatbher writing sounds beautiful, like you are there experiencing it. she's currently looking into publishing a book named, "shattered," a story about the feeling of losing yourself. auri's favorite quote from the book is, "as if i was attached to her by a string, it felt like i was being slowly dragged into the abyss. i didn't try to stop it. if i let myself fall, i could be with her again, and that would be better than this quiet misery."
