Chapter One:The Encounter
Laim's P.O.V
The old Cheif sighed,his hackles raised.He was not in an treatening mood,however he was troubled.He watched at Grizzly and Ily,his daughter and son that had passed the Cheif test,mock battle their skills.
He then turned his attention to Edme,his eldest,and most loyal daugter.She had not been as lucky as her siblings.SHe had become an Omega,lowest ranking wolf.Her life,was that of a lone wolf,eating only when her Cheif allows her.He did,however,make a few acceptions during mealtime because she was his little girl.
He watched her slink over towards the kill pile,tail tucked and low to the ground.She reatched for a small rabbit,as she did,Moxie stood above her and snarled,hackles raised.
The Omega tried again.
Moxie wouldn't have it.The she-wolf grabbed Edme by the scruff,and flung her down,pinning her and snarling.Grizzly and Ily stopped their mock battle,Ily's eyes wide,and both looking on as if they wanted to help their big sister,however,knowing there was nothing they could do.
Liam growled under his breath,and loped over.
"Thats enough Moxie!"He snarled,and the female immideatly rolled onto her back in subbmission.He snorted,and looked at Edme,who looked up at him with an annoyed grimace before sitting up.
"Edme."He said,turning to her."Just what were you trying to start?"He asked,looking at his eldest daughter.
The look she gave him was full of hurt."Dad,I didn't start anything!The laws say that if the Clan has eaten,then the omega can eat!I saw everyone get fed!"
Moxie growled."But,she has to have your consent before she eats,Liam!You,as cheif,should not allow rule breakers into the pack!"Her hackles were raised,and she slashed at Edme.
"Stop that now,your behaving like pups!"Liam snapped."Moxie,go."They held each other's gze for a moment.She growled and stomped off.
Edme sat down,her head hung low."Da-"She began,but Liam cut her off.
"Just exactly what did you do,Edme?"He said,narrowing his eyes at her.She glared at him,and snorted."Why do you think I did something?"She hissed,and without waiting for his reply,turned around and stomped off.
"Wait,Edme!"He called,and she turned her head."What?"She snapped.
"How'd you like to do a border run?"He asked,giving her a grin.
"Seriously?!"She barked,her tail flagged out,waving.Suddenly,her tail stopped,drooped,her ears folded back against her head."Uh,Dad,I'm an Omega,or did you forget?"
Liam snorted,then nodded."I'm your Alpha,here I am giving you a chance to maybe move up in rank,and you question it?"
Edme looked bright again,grinning."No,not at all!"She flashed her teeth.
"Good."He nodded."Grizzly and Ily are going,you can tag along with them,and then the three of you spilt,and search for anything out of place.'He turned,and padded away.
She nodded,met up with her siblings,and into the forest they went.
Edme's P.O.V
Her heart was racing;her dad was letting her do a border run!She grinned at her brother Grizzly,who gave her a noogie.
"That's my sis!"Ily barked,grinning as Edme pulled away from Grizzly.She giggled herself,and nodded.
"Thanks guys."She laughed."So,Grizz,your in charge,Dad says.Where do we go?"
Grizzly put his paw to his mouth,thinking."I'll take the north end,Ily you take the west,and Edme....the south."He nodded,and darted of to the North end.
Ily smiled,and went West.
She rolled her eyes,and started South of the quiet forest.
"Hey!"A voice barked,she spun around,bristling.
A stocky wolf walked over to her."Who the heck are you?"She snarled.
