I happily carry my new egg home, cradling it in my arms. I put it on a nest that I made (With the help of my other Aegolius) and stroke it gently, admiring its colors. I place a worm on the shell and smile as my other companions gather around the egg. "Im going to wait for you to hatch, until I give you a name." I whisper to it. I turn up the heat and sit down on my bed, staring at it from below.

"I was so busy, I barely had time to check on you. Im sorry." I apologize to the egg, stroking it gently. I get out a bottle of orange juice and spray the orange liquid onto the beautifully colored shell. I watch as the droplets slowly dissapear as the egg absorbs it.

I place one and a half thinly sliced peices of mouse on the shell. (grammar fail?) "I hope you grow up big and strong <3"

"Hi there! I should be at school, but I have a cold. So I get to spend more time with you <3." I spray some beef broth on your shell and place a worm on your shell. I lift you up and carry you outside, letting you enjoy the sunlight while I stroke your shell.

"D: Sorry, I was busy yesterday." I place a worm on your shell

*cuddles and sprays beef broth on your shell*

"Im home from school." I say to my egg, feeding it pieces of meat. I stroke its wonderfully colored shell, imagining what you'll look like once you hatch.

" D: Sorry! I didn't forget you, just had a project to work on." I stroke the beak that pokes out of the shell and offer it a piece of juicy meat.

I place the egg closer to the heater. It's colder today. I offer the small black beak a piece of fruit, which it takes and is soon gone. I peer into the egg, but all I see is blackness. I stroke you and let the my other Aegolius in to watch you while I'm gone.
