Name of Avus Leprieas: Tanus
Favourite food: Walnuts
Likes: Running, climbing, playing in piles of leaves, pine trees.
Dislikes: Loud noise, cars, the smell of diesel, oily things.
History: Tanus had a simple life. He grew up with his sister in the hollow of an oak tree. His parents raised them on a largely herbaceous diet, but he learned how to climb fruit trees to get to the ripest and plumpest fruit. Despite the fact he would have to leave his family to find a mate one day, Tanus stayed around the hollow for a large part of his young adult life. He made a lot of friends with other Earth AL’s and air AL’s. Fire AL’s were harder to come by, but water one’s were fun to play with when he would go swimming.
Later on he left the comfort of his family’s territory and explored the hillside forest he called home. He didn’t have to go far to discover suburban sprawl. Rooting through garbage for special treats never bothered him and he found the two legged fascinating. However their roads and big noisy things with wheels terrified him. Besides the streams nearby were dirty and the roads smelled bad to a AL that had grown up in the middle of nowhere. At the moment he doesn’t have a set home and mostly wanders, but he’s looking for a territory of his own he can control and create a family.
Story: Tanus paused, nose on the ground and tail in the air. The two feathers trailing behind him quivered in excitement. He was on the trail of his favorite snack and he could smell it was close. Paws cushioned by the blades of grass sprouting around a tree he moved further into the woods. Wing like ears flapping in interest, Tanus picked up the pace to a jog. Leaping up onto a tree he heaved with his fore paws until his hind hooves caught a low lying branch.
The green earth AL wiggled his butt and teetered on his hind legs. Sticking his nose between some leaves, loud crunching noises could be heard. Tanus sat back on his haunches and gnawed away on the tough outer shell of the ripe walnut. A few hard knocks against the limb and some hard chewing and the shell broke open. He didn’t waste any time in fishing out the nut and enjoying the hard won treat.
