But alas, my life is too exciting for that kind of rif raf
Within moments the barrel of a shotgun glints in the sun
inches away from my mother's head
She whines frantically
Sending the entire herd into mayhem.
Father, the leader, looks back at mother
and goes charging into the fight
I, their only daughter am forced to lead the herd
For I see my father looking at me
Sending me all his love, wisdom, and guidance
that i could need.
Leading the herd away from harm
I allow myself one last glance over my shoulder.
The lifeless figure of mother on the ground
blood spilling from her neck.
A limp figure of one of the two-legged beasts
That claim more and more of my kind's lives
Is a few yards away from my mother
With my father standing over it.
His shoulder has blood pouring out of it
Like a stream of tears never to cease.
He staggers over to my mother,
and lays down to rest

My eyes blurry
I can't hear
But somehow my father's voice comes into my head
