Cat's name: Frondpaw
Cat's gender: tom
Cat's personality: Frondpaw is a patient cat, he has to be. There are so many who aren't accepting of his disability, the fact that he is deaf. But he accepts it, he was born deaf, he's never known anything else. He's developed a kind of language with his tail, simple things like 'fight' 'run' 'hide' 'step up' 'hunt' 'patrol'. He's also very kind and accepting. He would have made a good medicine cat, but was determined to become a warrior. He wants to do the very best he could for his clan.
Prompt: Frondkit watched in total bewilderment as each kit stepped up in turn. Spiderkit, Shellkit. He hung back, wondering what was going on. The white kit's fur fluffed out, messing up the careful arrangement his mother had groomed it into. Another one of today's mysteries. But what was happening now? The blue cat, the one he thought was called Poppy- Poppystar, was beckoning to him with her tail. He could feel his mother behind him, nudging him forwards. Frondkit stumbled over his paws, and landed in a heap looking up at Poppystar. He'd always been a small cat and now he felt smaller than ever. There were pitying stares boring into them, he could see them, he could feel them. Poppystar was saying something now, he couldn't tell what; but he remembered her saying the same thing just a few moments before. And then there was a ripple of muttering and surprise rolling through the cats, and Frondkit tried to hide in his fluffy fur. Then everyone dispersed and whatever it was was over. A cat approached him, his father. He mouthed something, Frondkit wasn't sure what, but he caught his name. Except, it wasn't his name. Frond he recognised, but it was something like Frond-Frondpaw? He frowned, but then Spiderkit and Shellkit were upon him and he was bowled over. They stopped, and stepped back. Spiderkit said something over and over, pointing to herself. Spiderpaw, Spiderpaw. Shellkit was doing the same, Shellpaw, Shellpaw. Were they new names? Like his new name, Frondpaw? Somehow, Frondpaw stepped up to the challenge. He went out of camp for the first time, and was mesmerised by the new sights and smells. Everything was so.. wonderful. And quiet.
