I've never actually drawn a cat

Prompt: Zen lost his tail when he was about a year old. His tail was caught in a mousetrap and he was eventually found by a veterinarian kind enough to free him. The man amputated his tail and kept him overnight, with plans to bring Zen to an adoption event.
And why is he washing? How'd he get dirty?
In the moment he was quite afraid, and as he was being placed into a transportation crate, he scratched the man who rescued him and fled the scene. In all the action, he ran into the road, and thankfully the only bad thing that happened was he got splashed with a ton of muddy water. In the end the veterinarian found him again, and brought him here to be put up for adoption.
