smiling, i picked up the light instrument. i pressed its keys, listening to the thumping as it clicks down. i admired it for a moment.
i pressed my lips to the instrument, blowing slightly. from the moment i blew onto that instrument, it was love at first sight. that instrument has been the only thing i've ever loved that i hadn't grown tired of within a week.
ever since that seemingly small, insignificant moment, i've played. i've played my heart out through that trumpet. i played when i was distraught, i played when i was ecstatic; i played whenever. i played at 5pm and i played at 3am.
that instrument has been, and always will be, the love of my life.
