Why can't they sleep:
Mai heard screaming from her cousin's room. "Oh shoot! What time is it?" She asked herself. "6:00 AM?! I must have dozed off..." she looked down at the project.
No! She can't be up yet? Her present isn't ready yet! she ran out to stall.
"What is all the racket?!" She asked.
"Mai, we are late to school?!"
"Seriously, Tay? You think you would remember... your birthday is always on the first day of summer vacation... why do you always do this... go back to sleep and wake at a reasonable summer morning hour." She tried to get Tay to not leave the room she was in.
"Oh, sorry, I forgot. See you Mai." Tay got back in bed.
"Thank goodness, I can finally finish planning the supprise party for Tay." She yawned. "Man, tomorrow, I am
so sleeping in."

Everything was ready. Well, almost everything was ready. Mai still had to frost the cake.
Party Streamers of Tay's favorite colors wrapped the banister, lined the areas where the wall and the ceiling met, and created droopy lines from one part of the celiling to another. Balloons, some filled with helium, some with normal air, were everywhere. The top and bottom/begging and end of the banister had 3 balloons tied to it in 2 places, for a total of 6. 1 balloon was tied to the back of each chair at the table, except for the head of the table, which had two on it, one tied to each arm rest. Other floating balloons were spotted about. Some littered the ground.
Then there was the cake, 3 teirs in all, representing the 3 years Tay and Mei had lived together. Ever since that aweful night...
But no, Mei didn't need to think about the Elephant/Rinosuras/Hippopotamus/Giraffe incident that had caused Mei's home to be turned into a giant cookie 3 years ago. It was Taylen's birthday, and Mei was gonna make the most of it.
She began spreading a white frosting over the cakes. It held them together like glue, but didn't taste like glue. (Mei had learned the hard way that just because it is on cake, glue doesn't taste any better)
After the white frosting was everywhere, she left it to harden a bit. While that was happening, she wrapped the gifts and set them on the table. She then spread a nice, pink, icing over the white, she added light blue and light green roses everywhere, added a sprinkle of magical, glittery, golden, sparkly, sprinkle dust, and wrote in dark magenta colors "Happy Birthday, Tay!"
A nock was heard at the door.
"Thanks for waiting until everyone was here." Mai said.
"It is no problem, you ready?" Whispered Mai's best friend, Rylie.
