Juro was once a soldier for a great empire. He proved himself powerful and fearless, and the Emperor appointed him to protect and watch over his fourth son. Juro took this responsibility with honor and dedicated his life to the young prince. He formed a strong bond with the prince, and the two saw each other as close friends.
However, the world was not peaceful or friendly. A rival kingdom attacked, and the empire began to fall. Juro saw the impending threat upon the lives of the young princes, and so he took the one he protected and ran with him, planning to hide him away and protect him while trusting his companions in the kingdom to keep it safe. However, he was cut off. A soldier of the rival kingdom stopped Juro and challenged him. He said that if Juro could beat him, then he would let the two of them run free. However, if Juro lost, the prince would be killed. Seeing no way around it, Juro accepted and fought the soldier. He would have won, if it weren't for the mask the soldier wore. [url]The Mask of the Martyr.[/url] Juro's loss led to the death of the young prince he swore his life to protect, and it broke him. He returned to the kingdom with the princes body two days after the attack. He found the kingdom broken, but not shattered. The king and six of his sons had been killed, leaving the seventh son to reign. When Juro approached the royal grounds to inform of the fourth princes death, he was not greeted kindly. On the day he had returned, the seventh son had issued a declaration called "Underground." He proclaimed that all who were deemed criminals or traitors would be thrown into a crevice which would be sealed shut. Seizing the opportunity to get the warrior out of the way, the seventh son proclaimed that Juro had killed the fourth prince, and Juro was renamed "The Failed Hero" and was thrown down into the underground along with several others.

In the underground, Juro found himself surrounded by both genuine criminals and innocents who had found themselves in the same situation as he had. The criminals began to attack the innocents, and Juro decided he would not stand for it. Using force and the training he had received, he beat the criminals into submission. Admiring his confidence and abilities, the people of the Underground made Juro their ruler, and from there he helped them make this dark prison into a home.

Several years after his decent into the Underground, Juro has transformed this rag-tag group of betrayed civilians into a powerful and thriving civilization. The land of the Underground had grown strong, but this was only the beginning. Juro had plans. He would not roll over to the punishment received by the traitorous seventh son.
