Professional ice skater and loves hot chocolate!
write about a memorable christmas moment theyve had!: Christmas, one of my absolute favorite holidays. I mean what’s not to love, the break, presents, and family gathering. I still remember my favorite one, I was 8 and it was Christmas Eve.
“Look Roiland it’s snowing!” I said eagerly to my brother who was practicing his magic tricks for when our relatives arrived in a couple minutes. He wanted to make sure it went perfect. “It’s gonna be a White Christmas” he exclaimed happily, jumping up and down. “I wonder when they’ll show up” I asked curiously looking out the window. “Beats me, gives me more time to practice.” Said Roiland busily tossing around cards. Just then the door bell rang. “There here! There here!” We shouted together running to the door. My parents greeted them as my two aunts and uncles walked, and my grandparents. We all gathered in the living room, catching up with each other while Roiland did his magic tricks. I sat by the fireplace snuggled in my blankie, it was nice and cozy as I listened to my parents tell my grandma about the first time we went sledding. “Now for the best one of them all” I overheard Roiland start to say. Oh no, I knew which magic trick this was, and in fact it was more of a trick then magic. “54 PICK UP!!!” He cried dramatically before tossing that cards everywhere and running off. They all burst out laughing except for mom who was furious. “Roiland Hazeldine! You come back here and pick those cards up this instant!” Afterwards we got up to have a great big feast at the dining table. We had a big turkey and lots of mashed potato with gravy. After everyone was stuffed and full we made sure to have room for some hot chocolate with extra fluffy puffy marshmallows while watching a movie. When the movie ended it was getting real late so we all agreed to settle in for the night cause tomorrow was Christmas! I could barely sleep knowing tomorrow was Christmas.
“Bleu get up! Get up! It’s Christmas!” yelled Roiland, in my face and shaking me. Ugh... What is it... I said moaning. “Why it’s Christmas!!” That got my attention, I jumped out of bed. “Why didn’t you say so, let’s go!” Together we burst out the door, racing to get to the presents first. We slid down the stairs and to the tree where presents lay there. “I win,” cried Roiland and that means I open mines first!” He sang mocking me. “No fair,” I cried crossing my arms and ploping down. “You got a head start!” I whined. “Too bad so sad,” teased Roiland before selecting his present. “Look what Santa got me!” Cried Roiland who ripped apart the wrapping paper revealing a magician hat, cape, and wand. “I looked for mine and found a big one, inside was a new sled. “Wow that’s amazing” replied Roiland. “I wonder what else we got. Here’s one from uncle Bing! No way, he got me a four eye sunglasses! We ripped apart all the presents eventually. Roiland got a new pinball game, the magician outfit, a magic eightball, and a toy helicopter. I got a four eyed sunglasses (coolest thing ever), a sled, a board game, and a toy train. We started playing with our new toys, they were amazing. Then uncle Bing came down the stairs. “Looks like you two are having some fun, the hat looks good on you Roiland and the glasses Bleu!” He winked at us before taking a seat. “Well I have a little treat for you two, there’s a new ice skating rink that opened that I wanna take you too. I think you’ll enjoy it!” He said getting up. “Don’t worry we’ll be back for lunch, and on the way back we can stop for some milkshakes.” Ice skating, we never been icekating. This was new to both of us and I wasn’t so sure about the idea. Ice skating sounded boring and hard, something I didn’t have the patience for. We reluctantly followed him outside where we admired the fluffy snow and threw snowballs at each other on the way. (Btw, I lost but we shall not speak of that time ever again)
We arrived at the rink, there were already some others there, playing around. I watched them as we went to get our shoes. While uncle Bing helped tie my shoes I watched a girl jump on to the ice, she seemed like everyone else but then she started skating really fast. She twirled around around jumping and spinning in the air. She was amazing! Most people on the rink stopped to watch. She did it all perfectly before landing gracefully. She was like a real fairy! It was truly magical! “Can I do that?” I asked uncle Bing as he switched to tie Roiland’s. “Of course lad, you can do anything as long as you try.” That motivated me, I was gonna skate.
It was a lot harder then it looked compared to that performance when we got on the ice. I could barely stand much less skate. “It’s okay, I got you” uncle Bing said as he steadily lead me in while holding on to me. He explained how he had been doing it for years so he could skate already. My legs were shaking as I made small steps forward, my eyes glued to my feet. Then Roiland got impatient and instead of waiting for uncle Bing to help him, he jumped on the ice before falling on his butt and sliding to us. I didn’t look up in time to seem him sliding at me with no control. We crashed into each other and fell down. Me, not wanting to let him get away with that somehow managed to get up and try to go after him. “YOU’LL PAY FOR THAT YOU LITTLE TORPEDO PANTS!!”

I lunged at him as he try to get up and skate away but I end up falling back down. “Haha” he laughed as he managed to get up and move back and dodge me. I got up and pushed him, he yelped and almost fell over but regained his balance. Sighing in relief he realized that when I pushed him he started to skate and was speeding to the wall on the other side. “AHHHHH!” he yelled swinging his arms before crash landing against the wall. I burst out in laughter and started rolling on the ice. He got back up and started to skate towards me and fell a few times along the way which really made me crack up. Then he finally got the hang of it and started skating towards me at rapid speed. “HERE I COME!” I froze in panic, since when did he finally get the hang of it. I dove out of the way in time but end up spinning in circles. Some noticed and started to applaud me, only they didn’t know that was an accident and I was not showing off. That’s how it went after that, we chased each other around and somehow end up doing tricks that other skaters applauded or getting laughed when he crashed into each other.

We quickly ran out of energy eventually and left the rink (there was no winner incase you were wondering), and as uncle Bing promised, we got some milkshakes. Yum! The rest of the day was a breeze, we made forts, build snowman’s (mom’s was the best), and had snowball fights. Then we got to go sledding and my new sled was super fast, it was so much fun! Especially when Roiland crashed into a tree. We told stories when we got back and baked cookies with grandma. It really was the best day ever, by the end of the day I looked back at everything we did and realized that I actually enjoyed skating, not just crashing into Roiland but actually skating. That’s when I soon started taking lessons and actually getting pretty good at it. Just between you and me, the only other reason for that was so that if I accidentally set off monster Roiland again, I would have a better chance of getting out of it in one piece. Anyways that was the best Christmas ever!
