Opposite of Cerberus, guardian of the earthly gates to the celestial plane. Rather than try to keep the dead in..she keeps the living out. Handing out judgement with a heavy hand, if necessary.
Despite the situation, she is mortal-very mortal, and capable of failure. Hyper aware of her own "sins", and for that reason she cannot either enter the paradise herself. As a self condemnation, she bears the mantle of turning away those who are not dead and rightly judged, doing so with cold apathy for their often selfish desires or reasonings.
Her sense of morality, is doubtlessly skewed, and she is destined to judge everyone who comes to her as too corrupt for the land beyond earth.
None are sure if she's more accurately as a lawless angel or a lawful demon.
