As a young boy Oscar was an outcast, to his family and to society in general, his family treated him like he was nothing. He'd always get himself into trouble, jumping out of trees, trying to climb the cell tower, run over his own feet just to see what would happen. It got to the point where he'd break an forearm or shin. He's broken most of the bones in his body, some more than once.
As he grew older, his mental state only got worse. He developed schizophrenia along with severe depression. It's easy for others to make fun of you when you talk to shadow figures, it's even harder as those 'other people' are just voices in your head. Oscar normally sees a feline-like creature with one large eye when he's out in public, following his every move. At home he sees either hands crawling up and down the walls or eyes staring at him from the ceiling.
