Sᴛᴏʀʏ:The full-moon rose over the desolate landscape, illuminating a single stallion. His muzzle pointed upwards, searching the stars. His nostrils flared, breath visible in the frosty air. Caution is his main priority right now. Below his watching eyes rested part of his herd. His heart ached from the events of last night causing him to split his herd up, and leaving his ethereal mate. He knew they'd follow them, the vile humans, tearing his family apart. Shaking his mane, he trotted down to his herd below, nickering softly to wake them. Rearing one last time, he took off with his herd behind him, wishing he could go back before all of this. Before the humans came.
*flashback*
XXXXXThe night before will be a night I will never forget. It was chaos. Wild and tamed ran against each other, humans astride the tamed trying to chase us. My mate ran alongside me, her white body glistening with sweat, eyes wide in fear. We always had a plan for if something like this would happen, but we never expected it to. My heart ached for her, and I reached out one last time to say goodbye, nuzzling her neck softly, breathing in her sweet scent. Rearing up, I neighed shrilly and charged the humans, scattering them, and the herd knew then. The young foals and their mothers followed my angel, while the older ones followed me. We lingered though, to give the others a chance to run to the hidden cove, far from here where no human would find them. My group then turned and ran, myself in the back. As the humans chased us, I knew I couldn't let them find the hidden cove. I raced to front of the herd, and led them in the opposite direction, away from home.
*end of flashback*
XXXXXThey continued to race onward, away from the humans. He knew that they would eventually be caught if he didn't do something. Something that'd save his herd. He stopped the herd by a small lake to quench their thirst, but he knew they couldn't stay. The humans wouldn't stop until they've captured something. Looking down, he looked at his own reflection, his coat matching the stars above him. Snorting, turned and trotted to his good friend, a stallion with a coat black as night. Touching muzzles, they both understood what was going to happen. The black stallion would lead the rest of the herd to the cove, and he, he would go rouge, and continue to lead the humans away from his herd. The wild Tezari's gathered around their leader, nuzzling, and saying their last goodbyes. Stomping his hoof, he turned, and trotted away from his herd, looking back for the last time, then galloping forward, towards the humans that would change his life.
With his herd behind him, and now he, a lone wolf raced across the dunes, until he reached their camp. Those stupid humans give away their position from miles away, with their fire, and loud noises. He continued forward until he reached the edge of their camp. All eyes were transfixed on the stallion of stars at their camp. They all rose, ropes at the ready to catch the wild stallion, but he was ready, and with a flick of his tail, he turned and ran, giving them the chase of their life. But this, would be his demise, and would end in his capturing... His heart, the spirit of a warrior.
