The shadows were my home, my friends, my enemies, and my life.

It started when I was still a teenager. I was notoriously fast - I had been all my life.
My shorter legs should have slowed me down, but with my smaller general size, they
only made me faster.

I was on my way home one day and was taking a shortcut through a darker neighbor-
hood. I had done this many times, so I didn't think anything would go wrong. Not until
the sack was tugged over my head.

The shadows taught me things I didn't want to know of, but I had no choice.
They made me someone I wasn't.

Over the course of two years I was taught to kill in more ways than I cared to count.
They trained me to be an assassin, to kill at their bidding. My speed was my asset, but
it wasn't enough for me to escape. I had tried too many times.

The shadows oppressed me, made me do things I had never wanted to do.

To appease the shadows, I killed, anyone they wanted however they wanted. Every
death on my hands stained my conscience and my dreams, turning every last one into
a living nightmare.

I only did it because they threatened my family, my parents, my elder sister, all of
whom had done nothing to them.

The shadows took away everything I had ever known.

Years later the authorities caught up to the gang. I testified against them, and in
return, they let me go. But it was too late. My family had disappeared, killed or taken,
I didn't know. What I knew was I was alone.

I was alone, but I was finally free of the darkness.

The light had freed me, cleansed me, and opened up the chance to change.

With my new chance at life, I started making my wrongs right. I had already helped to
get justice for some families, but I had a lot to make up for on my own. I started giving
to charities, helping the homeless, the hungry. I did everything I could to save as many
lives as I could.
