an incredibly studious young man who closes himself off from the rest of the world in order to further his intellect. he views interactions with other kalons to be lost causes;; eventually people leave you, so what's the point? he's cold, abrasive, and avoids contact with others whenever possible. the only people he is polite to are the keepers of books, the ones keeping his studying materials pristine.

when he's alone, sometimes he enjoys listening to audiobooks or audio adventure books, akin to the likes of j r r tolkien. sometimes he imagines himself in the world of those - where knowing all this would make him some heroic elf. those few blissful moments where he can lose himself in the magic of fictional worlds - that's the best.

a dreamer, ah...what a terrible thing to be? that's what he is. the poor thing, he scorns himself. another reason to never let anyone get close to him --- why should he? there was a time, perhaps...where he might have allowed himself. a time when he was young, and the world was big, and dreams were everything. he can still remember playing in the snow with his friends, jumping and happiness and carefree, and he was u n t o u c h a b l e. Sometimes, when he closes his eyes at night, he can rest his aching eyes and imagine himself there once more.
backstory

memories of happy days filled with laughter, light, and closeness flooded the kalon's memory as he allowed himself to think about what had been. days of closeness with his friends, and then...then there was that boy. the boy whose piano skills were seemingly unmatched, the music of which kept alexander sneaking to the music room after school to listen to it. and when he was caught -- alexander, cornered, spilled out his feelings to soren, who had never heard of this kalon in his life.
alexander felt a fool, and after being rightfully rejected, ran off. rather than facing his embarrassment, he merely shut everyone out, sticking to books. one always got praise when pursuing studies -- dreamers, romanticists, the like were all scorned and told to get their head out of the clouds.
alexander would stay firmly on the ground, thank you very much.
