The original concept sketch

This fellow took me way to long to finish. Every time I went to work on him something came up and stopped me. ;~; But he's finally done! The story I came up with this time is that the jester has a power to be able to control people but controlling puppets, the jester then successfully takes control of the kingdom without anyone noticing. However, you would think that using the image of wide lips as the kingdom's new flag design might be a large tip off that something isn't right.

Note the way the small red puppet is posed and the king in the back, that aids in illustrating this jester's ability.

Why did they take over the kingdom? He got sick of being ridiculed and laughed at - so as soon as a chance presented itself, Jester took over. Now he is the one who gets to laugh(on the inside) and ridicule, and he does so oh so often. He's not very villainous, really, he doesnt pursue any world-shattering goals like universal domination or etc, he only really wants to get back at his abusers to the very fullest - but his methods in doing it are often on the edge of being sinister.

Story: Jester doesnt remember his real name; he was so little when he was taken away from his family that he doesnt have a clue what his real name was. All he ever knew was being someone's puppet; an amusing pet brought out when his masters are bored to entertain them with his cute jumps and silly sounds. In his masters' eyes, it wasnt anything cruel because they've never hurt him directly; he was always fed, warm, and had things some peasants would give everything of theirs to have in the palace. Yet he never felt lucky or loved, himself. Since early childhood he was trained in comedian arts by best jesters, cirsus clowns and acrobats of the kingdom, and knew nothing but playing his role - deranged, uncontrollably vocal human-formed parrot for the fun of the king and his suite.
Personality: Of course, the unhealthy upraising couldnt pass without leaving a mark on Jester's personality. His personality is best described as "mentally unstable", for one moment he can be a perfectly reasonable plotter, and the other turn into a raging madman. Nobody ever paid attention to his sudden outbursts - he always kept them in control enough to not do any real damage to anyone or anything, something he learned very well since his first steps in the castle - considering them nothing but amusing acts, as always. Their loss.

Why did they take over the kingdom?
Geheimnis grew up like any other little girl in the kingdom, a normal childhood. but when she was older (around 17 18) she was treated poorly because she was a girl. she wasn't allowed to work or own things like her own house. eventually she go tired of the way she was being treated and ran away. she came to a dark forest and went in to hide. she got lost and found a hut in the middle of the woods. a witch lived in the hut and the witch told her that great power was hers for the taking. she gave her the mask which was bewitched and turned her into a power hungry monster. she went back to the village and controlled the people who had denied her what she wanted because she was a girl, slowly moving up ranks till she got to the king. now she controls the king and in turn the whole kingdom.
Extras: Geheimnis is completely controlled by the mask. it clouds her thinking and judgment. she can't remember anything about her family. Geheimnis is a villan

its not the best backstory there are for sure things i could work out and clarify but yea thank you for the opportunity to adopt this cool character

Why did they take over the kingdom?

Milan took over to save the king from himself. A whole kingdom set to corrode from the inside out and collapse like termite-ridden beams, and only held up precariously by the strings he put in place. And Milan would be damned the day he let that troglodyte destroy what remained of his family’s stability.

He wasn't always a jester to the king. Oh no— he used to know the king quite well in his youth. The two were thick as thieves, with Milan being the crown prince’s trusty warlock-in-training and the future king being one of the introverted lad’s only confidants. Milan was responsible for getting the future king out of numerous scrapes and dangerous situations, with little complaint involved. The king always did used to be a bit too arrogant for his own good, but family was family in Milan’s eyes. Even the idiot ones.

It wasn't soon after that Milan and his family had to leave the palace— without delving into too much detail, Milan had to leave to continue his studies elsewhere. And, with Milan’s father out of the picture, Milan’s mother couldn't afford to keep her precarious political position within the castle. And so, the future king and Milan grew apart.

Years passed before Milan returned to the heart of the kingdom. Rich with knowledge and physical prowess, he hoped to gain a position within the court as a warlock to the king, but Milan came to turmoil bubbling under the surface of the kingdom’s weak facade. The errant prince was now a dangerous king— rash and unpredictable, stupid in his ignorance— and Milan wouldn't stand for it. He returned to the kingdom in an effort to restore his family back to power and stability, and he wouldn't let some idiot ruin it for him.

It was easy enough coming into the kingdom under the guise of a fool. And with Milan’s powers, he had the king and his council in his strings in under a year.

But oh, the stress.

This was very hard to judge! I enjoyed the different concepts for the character and I wish I could figure out a way to hand out honorable mentions or runner ups. I rather liked Nanorat's story of vengeance and wimsy-draws' idea of being controlled by the mask, both of you did a great job coming up with a concept for the design. Feel free to reuse these concepts for your own characters. ^^

That being said, the winner is Placebo! I adored the story behind the reason why he took over the kingdom! Congrats!

I really can't describe in words how much I love this concept ;u; I've literally never seen anything like this, and I'm kinda mad that I didn't find it earlier so I could just write more, hah- There's just so much potential with his storyline and I know I'm gonna have alotta fun writing his story and building a world around him<33 Again, thank you!
