Ljósálfur was born in a tiny Icelandic village on the shore, living with her parents on a small sheep farm. Once she grew older, she decided to see the world, and moved to the Icelandic capital. However, its small size was not enough to satisfy her need to see more, so after she finished university, she moved to mainland Europe. Due to her job as a travelling musician, she moves often, and is never in the same place twice. She dreams of one day travelling to the other continents, especially South America.
