Chrysocyon lumarus
n. A thought-extinct member of the genus Chrysocyon.
They resemble their closest cousins, maned wolves (Chrysocyon brachyurus) in size and general anatomy,
however they seemed to have retained a few ancient reptilian features- most notably, scales on their lower legs,
and a crest of feathers that trails down their back, which seems to be used for scaring predators and attracting mates.

Their Sleeping Habits; Akio's a little bit of a mess when it comes to sleeping habits. he's got a very strict schedule on when he goes to bed and wake he wakes up for the night, but it consists of going to bed at 2am and waking up at 6am. he really doesn't need to stay up that late nor get up that early, but he loves being awake at night and at early morning, so he does both, sort of. that does, however, really mess with his body because it's just four hours of sleep, but he's understood that he needs eight hours of sleep at most, so Akio decided to compensate that sleep with day-time naps, which are usually somewhere around lunch time, 10am to about 2pm. he's very confident in his sleep schedule and it doesn't seem to be in the way of his life, it's actually the absolute opposite - Akio thrives under his weird sleeping habits. he used to always have trouble falling asleep, but now he falls asleep easily and wakes up just as quickly too. he still kicks off the blankets off his bed though.
