evelyn, evleyn

it's broken, i don't want to play

good little grey skelly children

set in a 1960/70 time period??

both call themselves evelyn, thought sometimes the right calls themselves lin. no distinguishable names otherwise. only difference is the hair
- biologically female, right head is female, left is transmale
- was adopted very young by some kind old couple; lived in a large mansion. most of their favorite childhood memories are involved with dressing up and going to church; there they weren't called a mutant, but a miracle
- when they were about 10 or 11 lin started getting a lot more dysphoria about himself and tried to convince evelyn and his parents that he was a boy; they brushed him off and simply said it was nonsense
- at about 15/16 the older man passed away; a few months later, so did the woman. they were left alone, inheriting this giant heckin house and a few acres
- well what kid wants to clean?? not really wanting to pay the staff anymore [thanks guys], they simply used just a few rooms and frequented just those
- they knew how to cook and sew and were left with enough money to keep the electricity on. all they really did was watch television shows rip
- throughout this time, lin is trying to convince evelyn that he is male, but he has no way of providing other examples to convince her. she either brushes him off or argues; this is a time where their relationship gets very tense. she won't let him cut his hair [confusing limb control], so he keeps his hair in a bun to the best of his ability.
- at about 18 or 19 evelyn decided she wanted to leave the house and explore. lin feared what others would think and disagreed
- eventually?? they left and traveled around. they sort of got caught up in a crowd that wasn't much like them [they were the only ones that accepted them, really]; kids that sat on corners with cigarettes and rode around in empty train cars. pure little angel babies are the voice of reason within these kids and they fit right in
- yeah i guess that's where they are now, trying to get a job and discover the world

evelyn is straight/desires love and often daydreams about finding her perfect husband; she meets a lot of sailors as they live near the coast

lin is asexual and hates every one of these encounters, but lets evelyn have her fun. sometimes if a lad agrees to have a little walk with evelyn or such, lin will just glare from the other side. he is the primary judge of who's good for her and though they argue a lot, he cares deeply

evelyn herself is pretty,, frivolous and makes split second decisions while thinking lin is limiting and rude and wants to hold her back
lin is just?? scared?? of everything. really a poor little caring boy and just wants to keep everyone safe
- as children they both saw these 'shadow monsters' [childhood hallucinations] that they'd hide from. really the only place they felt safe was in church. their adoptive parents had a routine that they'd go through to 'scare these monsters away', and they still do it out of habit
- though evelyn hasn't mentioned it anymore, lin still sees them sometimes

as for how they move - it changes a lot?? sometimes one controls one side, sometimes one takes over everything, or gives up to let the other take control of the legs. they both sync unconscious movements

both are strongest with the sides they are on, so example if lin wanted to cut his hair, evelyn could knock stuff away with her side

they can't read eachother's minds, but get the same pulses of emotion and such. if one thinks abt moving something, the other will sort of get a pulse that urges them to do the same?? idk they've had years to figure out how to move
