Why were they abandoned?: Well, the only caretaker was his older brother, Umbreon (Look their parents had a problem okay?!) wanted to take care of him, but the parents didn't allowed it sense they said Flareon was a runt even though he hadn't hatched, yet the parents put him away in the forest, and to this day he is alone though they're are rumors that Flareon has heard that his big bro is out there somewhere to leave his parents to rot and to find him. Flareon doesn't believe it of course, but hey you never know ya know?

Why were they abandoned?: The egg was abandon because the mother was unable to take care of the egg, Being a single mother she did not have the ability to take care of the egg and herself.
