at this point in her life, she is identifying as female, but there are times when she does identify as male or neither.
personality ;; she's generally a fun person to be around- plants are her passion. she loves every plant, but her favorites are aloe vera because of the rumors of their help with sleep, her apartment is full of them. though she suffered from depression and anxiety in the past, she seems to have overcome them for the time being. she tries very hard in everything she does and craves approval and attention. when she stops doing things that she enjoys (writing, volunteering, reading and attending pride parades) she falls back into a very dangerous cycle that ultimately leads to depression. she tends to fall into routines, which always send her to a bad place because she only sees the same things every day and she's afraid that this is all there is.

history ;; tinge's start in life was rough- typical tragic background, single mother died giving birth, father ran off and she was adopted by her grandma who loved and supported her through every tragedy that passed her by. In middle school she identified mostly as male, even though she was born female. this led to a lot of bullying and targeting. she was "that kid". the kid everyone makes memes of behind their back. during middle and high school she was dealing with lots of anxiety and depression. however, with help from her grandma she made it through these rough times- she then got her associates at a community college. afterwards she picked up a job (on recommendation from one of her grandma's friends who had worked there for a really long time) as a nurse, supporting herself and her grandma. her grandma died two years ago and the pain is still prominent in her life, but she is moving past it because she knows that what she would have wanted. after her grandma passed, she went back to college in hopes of starting a life doing her passion: writing. she loves any and all poetry books and aspires to become a poetry writer.

ability to make friends ;; she makes friends really easily, bonding with most people, but not many people really know her. she'll always look out for her friends when it comes down to it. they need a favor? gum? a hug? she's there. when she's not, they know something is bugging her. she'll be friends with anyone as long as they don't treat her like garbage. she can't tolerate being called names or being put down because it sets her depression into cycle.

tenzin - any time tenzin is in town you can bet tinge and him are getting together. he comforts her and listens to her and encourages her writing. any time she starts to go downhill in her depression, he pulls her out. he accepts anything she does and his calming aura always brings her to some sort of serenity. when he has the time, they meditate together. she loves to hear stories of his travels. she envies his travels, but likes being around him because he doesn't brag about things she can't do- just informs her. buzz ;; although buzz is not officially hers, he's a stray cat who visits the apartment building occasionally, she keeps cat food in her apartment to feed him with when he comes around. he's been around since before she started living the building two years ago and since she's always taken comfort in him. the lady at the door pays for all his medical bills and at christmas most people living there donate a few cents to buy him something.

plant collecting ;; tinge has always loved plants- as a kid her grandma always brought home fresh flowers from the green house she worked at. it's not an obsession as much as a hobby. she likes plants with purpose, like she'll grow tomatoes (she actually hates them, but likes to make sauce and paste with them) and other foods and then she'll have aloe plants around because they're rumored to help with sleeping issues. she (not to be basic) likes to have cacti around because she was a bit of a bandwagon goer in this case.
reading ;; bOOks. tinge absolutely loves to read. when she was in middle school she struggled a lot with fitting in and escaping to the realm of the nearest book was always an option for her. now, as an adult, she has shelves of books in her apartment. in fact, there are still boxes stacked with books from since she moved in. she's afraid one day they'll stop making paperbacks and she wants future generations to have paperbacks.
writing ;; this is what she wants to do for her career. she's always had a passion for writing- it may be because she's always lucked out with english teachers and they've always inspired her. poetry comes to her best when she is feeling an emotion really strongly, but she has to seize the moment and get some paper in her hand because once the pain ebbs, so will the urge to write. she didn't want to write originally, she always thought that writing wasn't the career for her because she wasn't good enough. but then she realized she didn't need to be good enough as long as she was passionate enough. now she's going to college to become a writer after.
shelter volunteering ;; tinge lOves animals !! she volunteers at the local shelter any time she has free. especially on sunday mornings since most of the everyday shelter people take that day off. this isn't work for tinge, it's always been about the animals for her. she especially likes the older dogs. if her apartment allowed dogs she would have adopted all of them. she donates most of her extra money to the shelter.
attending pride parades ;; struggling with her self image has always been a problem for tinge. she went to her first pride parade with a friend of hers in high school. she had never seen or spoken to so many people who could relate to her situation. pride parades make her feel normal. if there's ever one in town, you can bet you'll see her there, supporting everyone who she thinks might be going through the same things she was going through.
