Overview:
--These beans, as well as all of my Kalons, live in a medieval world!
These two travel together and make money off of their respective skills. There is a circuit of eight villages that the two visit, spending about three weeks at a time at each place. The two are extremely close, despite their opposing personalities and occupations. They have a strong fondness for their parents and visit each of them when they are closeby; their mothers, Rhiannon and Delta, separated years ago, so they make time to travel to their parents' respective homes.
Left Kit
name -- Branwen (Welsh; "beautiful raven")
gender -- female
personality -- fiery, brash, big smiles and loud words
occupation -- mercenary
strengths -- physical fitness, social butterfly
weaknesses -- hot temper, lack of forethought
Branwen's physical strength and proficiency with her battleaxe make her a fearsome fighter. As a young kit, she spent much of her time climbing trees and hunting animals in the forest around her mother's home. This built the foundation for her training as she grew older. In her teenage years she befriended a blacksmith in a neighboring village and learned how to wield large weapons, though she had no talent for making them herself. She absolutely loves her brother and travelling companion, Celyn, and looks to him advice when she gets too hot-headed. She admires both of her mothers, and doesn't think too much about why they separated.
Right Kit
name -- Celyn (Welsh; "holly")
gender -- male
personality -- quiet, curious, low energy, introspective
occupation -- healer
strengths -- intellectual, observant
weaknesses -- socially awkward, conflict avoidant
Celyn is, in many ways, the opposite to his sister. While she was hunting, he was healing. Often as a kit he would convince her to let him save an animal she had caught in one of her traps. He understood why it was necessary to hunt - the family needed to eat - and his sister's activities did not bother him much. He simply loved nursing living things back to health, whether they be plant or animal. The almost magical ability of the living to regrow skin and sinew awed and inspired Celyn. He was trained by his mother, Rhiannon, in botany, and learned much about which herbs help with which ailments. Later, when his sister left for a time to train as a mercenary, Celyn met Reina, a doctor in the village near his mother's hut. She taught him the intricacies of healing, how to suture deep wounds and set broken bones, how to comfort a Kalon who was taking their final breaths. He cherished this training and had a lot of love for his mentor. He cares deeply for his sister, her bold personality contrasting with his subdued one. He looks to her for help when dealing with conflict situations. He wonders often what happened between his parents to cause them to leave one another.
