[i]Little vincling Harley walked down the steps, a candle in her paw. The idea of fire always fascinated her, she smiled softly at the flickering flames. She hit the flat floor finally, glancing around the room, enjoying the way it lit up. She caught sight of the curtains, a small question of 'what if' popping up. She walked over to them, holding the flame under them softly, they lit within seconds. She walked outside to admire her new idea for lighting in a house, soon noticing the flames where higher than they should have been. She ran in, dumping water on the flames but they wouldn't go out. She ran up the steps, tripping multiple times "momma! Pappa!" She said loudly, running to their room. They woke up from her voice, running to her "t-theres a fire!" She said shakily, they ran to her brothers room, waking him before they all ran out. They looked at Harley, asking what had happened. As their house was ingulfed in flames she told them of the "wonderful" idea she had had. Both her parents stared down at her in disappointment, not caring about the tears streaming down her face or her apologies. They walked to a friends, who agreed to let them stay the night. Once everyone was asleep, Harley slipped out of the door. After one last glance at her family she was gone. She didn't know where she was going but she knew she couldn't stay here. She knew her parents wouldn't miss her, they had always loved her brother more. She walked and walked until she was far enough away, then she found a tree to sleep in.
The next morning she woke up, almost forgeting last nights events before the memories hit her again. She felt tears flow down her face, sniffling she wiped them away. She hopped out the tree and began walking again. She found a small market place, many different shops. She decided that if she was going to survive she needed a
Weapon. She found the weapon shop, walking in casually. She looked for a simple yet effective knife, seeing a small pocket knife on a display. She walked over, picking it up gently, she examined it for a few moments, waiting until the shop keep looked away, she grabbed a holder for the knife and slipped out the door. Sighing in relief she hadn't been caught. She felt a tap on her shoulder, freezing in fear when she turned to see the shop keep. "You have to pay for that girl! " he said, his voice harsh. She gulped, turning around and running off. He didn't bother chase her as he had a hurt leg and wouldn't catch her. She ran into a forest outside of town, making sure she was safe. She rested against a tree, looking over the knife again, she loved the beautiful rose pattern that was etched in the side.
