Why do their eyes glow in the dark?;; This leafie is from the deeper and darker parts of the forest where theres not a whole lot of sunlight access. He has adapted to minimal light and as result his eyes glow to allow him to see. It works just the same as cats or even fish that live in the deeper parts of the ocean. He is so rare because most leafies don't live in those parts of the woods, and in fact, Hoya didnt even know there was more of his kind until he adventured out of the darker woods. But now that he exposed himself to the rest of the world, he can't help be bit a little scared of what else that might lie beyond the forest. Everything that he had known was limited to what was in the deeper parts of the forests. So it's interesting how his eyes seem to glow brighter as a defensive mechanism, when he feels vulnerable, to scare off unwanted guests. Although the glow isn't as noticeable in the daylight, and best seen at night. [176 words]
Extra;; Personality;; Hoya has a very outgoing spirit, he knows he is different from the other leafies and he is proud of it. But it's interesting to see that he doesn't like to be center of attention, he just likes the minimal amount. Perhaps it is because he never received very much in his old home, within the deeper parts of the forest. The same thing seems to apply towards affection. He does like to be social though and he is very adventurous in the sense he likes to try out new things. But when it comes to learning new terrain, he can't help but be nervous, and with somethings he is happier just not knowing. Besides his fears, he does like to enjoy himself and hang out with his newfound friends. He may not have many but he has found that he likes to have company, and he doesn't want to be alone ever again. Hoya does have his difficulties with trying to somewhat fit in with the other leafies, and befriending them seems harder than it looks, but he has found a recently new personality trait in himself lately due to it. He tends be stubborn and won't give up when he puts his mind to it. He may not fit in, but he is determined to be accepted by the other leafies. But that doesn't mean he'll try to hide his physically qualities to do so, Hoya wants the leafies to accept him for who he is. Even if he is so foreign. This would probably be why all his friends are misfits just like himself, but he isn't ashamed of it, he is proud of his friends.
