For this competition, i'm looking for character development !! I would love a unique story surrounding them! {it doesn't necessarily have to suite the kalon lore, feel free to make it non- canon!}
The story must be AT LEAST 500 words, but other than that it's pretty much an unlimited impress me <33

Elle was walking around the park she lived near, and saw three of her best friends waving her over. Elle smiled and ran over to meet her friends, her ice skates thumping against her legs.
She stopped at the frozen pond and greeted her friends. "Hey! What's up, guys?"
Her friend, Tana, looked at the ice and turned back to Elle. "My dad measured the ice this morning - it's five inches deep, as he said. So I think it's safe to ice skate." she added happily. Elle grinned. Her friends knew she loved to skate - it was like dancing on ice, but way more majestically.
Elle slipped off her boots and pulled on her skates. She tied them quickly, and stood up, waiting for her friends to finish.
Tana stood up and reached to help her friends Lucia and Samii up. Lucia looked a bit nervous.
"I - I'm not so sure about this." she confessed. "I've never a-actually ice skated before..." she glanced at the ice and gulped.
Sammi grabbed hold of her arm and smiled. "I've got you! You can just hold on to me!" Lucia looked even more scared at the thought of skating with Samii.
Tana looked at the ice, and back at her friends. "We should get on the ice before the sun comes up and starts melting everything." Elle agreed.
Soon enough, the four friends were skating and having fun throwing snowballs at each other. Elle started dancing randomly at one time, and her friends skated in a circle around her. Elle was still dancing, eyes closed and hands moving.
Elle, smiling at her friends, who were waving her off the ice, waved back at them.
And, suddenly, the ice started cracking.
Elle stopped skating and frantically tried to skate to the other side of the pond, where her friends were. The ice was already cracked there, so she turned around and skated as fast as she could.
Elle's skate got caught on a piece of chipped ice, and she tripped, falling face-down onto the ice. She pushed herself up, but the ice cracked and Elle fell in the freezing water head-first.
She didn't hear when Tana screamed her name.
She didn't hear when Lucia started crying.
She didn't hear when Samii rushed to get help.
Elle panicked as water filled her ears and soaked her fur. She felt hands pulling at her legs, but Elle wasn't budging. For a moment, she felt ashamed. Elle wasn't too heavy, but she wasn't the lightest, either.
Elle was running out of air. She looked everywhere for an ari pocket, and finally found one just next to her.
She managed to bite a hole in the thin ice and breathe, but she couldn't hold herself in one position for that long.
Her feet kicked empty air, and her hands slipped on the small hole she had chewed.
Minutes went past. Ten, twenty, thirty...
It was at the forty minute mark that Elle, weak, cold, and drenched, had passed out.

"Elle? Elle! Doc, I think she's coming to!"
"Impossible! Nearly everyone with hypothermia dies..."
"Elle, wake up! We miss you!!"
Elle groaned and pawed at the air, her eyes opening just a bit.
She saw at least thirteen silhouettes surrounding her. Elle blinked once, twice, and opened her eyes.
"Elle!" Tana threw her arms around Elle's neck. "You're alive! You scared us! Don't ever disappear like that again, you hear me?" Elle smiled weakly.
The doctor, wearing a stethoscope, smiled warmly at Elle.
"Good morning, Miss Elle. You fell into a frozen lake head-first and blacked out forty minutes after falling in, but it wasn't from cold. You suffered from cardiac arrest, unfortunately. When the rescue team found you, you had temperatures of 56.7 ° Fahrenheit. You're very lucky to have survived, Miss Elle. Lucky for you, your metabolism slowed down to about 10% of it's baseline rate, which saved your life." The doctor paused. "It took about 100 of us doctors to save you, dear." Elle stared, openmouthed. She could have died?
Elle glanced at her friends, and then back at the doctor. "Thank you, guys." she whispered, and closed her eyes.

A few weeks later, Elle was walking with her friends, snickering at the memes Tana had shown them.
"So, Ice Princess, where do you wanna go now?" Samii asked, teasing Elle.
"Oh, shut up, Samii. At least I don't have a crush on some make-believe character from a TV show!" Elle shot back.
"Guys, guys! Shut up, and let's go get some coffee, okay?" Tana said in a stern voice.
There was a moment of silence until, "Did you just assume their genders?" Lucia's soft voice filled the silence, followed by laughter.
