- Adopted from the Rescue Event
Backstory wrote:We were told that this female had been the runt of perhaps unprepared back yard breeding, where she then had been adopted by a family. But before she turned a year old she was taken to the vet because of her front left leg severely causing her pain, and was found to have osteosarcoma there. With the expenses being too much she was given back to her breeder who brought her in to a clinic/shelter to see what could be done and originally opted for euthanasia, but was convinced to surrender the pup to the clinic. Fortunately they gathered enough donations and performed an amputation which went successful and since then she's been generally happy and healthy! She's been in a foster home for a year until now and has been obedience trained and knows quite a few tricks! Despite her disability you couldn't tell that she was any different from any other young dog, she's very driven and focused and happy to please, all she needs is an active life to keep her weight down and a permanent home.
