Hazard Cats are long legged felines with quite a few robotic qualities.
Their tails are about the length of their body, split into two pieces,
and connected by some form of energy. The glass screens on their
chest are most commonly known to show a heartbeat, but many other
glowing images can appear there. These images mirror the cat’s
health in one way or another. Some cats have static on their screens,
but beware, those cats are as dangerous as they are rare! The picture
on the screen will always match the color of the cat’s eyes, which
typically have hollowed pupils. Hazards have three eyes, but the center
one is almost always covered with a band-aid or something similar.
This is because of the often dangerous powers that are channeled
through the third eye. Grates on the cats’ sides aid in breathing and
can also emit a steam, sound and mist, as well as a strange goo.
Their large ears allow them to hear potential prey miles away and make
them skilled trackers, but they are easily overwhelmed by too much
noise. Thanks to their strong legs, Hazard cats can reach speeds up to
fifty miles per hour and leap near ten feet up.

What's going on?
A long time ago, so long ago that Roxy couldn't remember herself, some of the lab workers had decided that she was the perfect specimen for their experiment. An experiment to see if just a regular cat could somehow harness the power of a Hazard Cat's third eye. After much experimentation and much pain on Roxy's part, the final test was initiated. They forced open Roxy's improvised third eye, located on her lower back, and she remembered seeing something bright, blue-white, glowing in front of her. She had realized dimly that it was actually coming from inside of her eye, beaming out. She remembered the astonished and terrified faces of the scientists, then the light consumed everything else until Roxy watched it all fade to night.
She woke with a pounding headache, watery eyes, and a small voice in her ear. "Where am I? Are you okay?" Roxy opened her eyes to see a ghostly. glowing face staring at her. It flicked its long ears and repeated, "Are you okay?" Roxy nodded numbly, The... thing looked at her inquisitively. "Something happened, and now I'm here. But so are you. And it looks like something exploded in here." Roxy looked around, noticing for the first time the destroyed beakers, now shards on the floor, the ripped carpeting, the charred black spots on the walls and floors that seemed to spiral out and away from her. Roxy turned back to the ghost-thing and watched as its screen of sorts filled with static. As if forcibly, the Hazard cat (if it was what Roxy assumed it was) exhaled through its grate (it must be, if it had a grate) and Roxy watched as the static settled itself into a calm spiral. "I'm Jynx. Who are you? And what even happened here?" Jynx asked, their three black eyes blinking at her disconcertingly. Roxy shook her head in confusion.
"I-I'm not sure. I can't seem to remember." Jynx nodded sadly.
"That can happen if you try to use too much of your power at once. Although you don't have any other Hazard Cat things, do you? Did they do some sort of experiment?" Roxy shook her head again.
Jynx paced decisively a couple inches above the floor. "That must be it. They tried to make you have powers when you clearly shouldn't. Cruel! Oh my," Jynx suddenly gasped as their eyes locked on Roxy's back.
Roxy craned her head around, looking for the cause of alarm. Jynx swooped down immediately as Roxy saw what the scientists had done. Where should have been fur and flesh, there was a hollow with a panicked-looking black eye. "This is unacceptable. To injure a cat for their own greed and curiosity? How DARE they!" The spiral on Jynx's screen swirled furiously. She directed Roxy to the bandages and Roxy placed one carefully over the now-closed eye. "You might never have powers with that. And if you do, they're going to be extremely unstable. Don't take the bandage off, okay?" Roxy nodded.
"I'm Roxy," she said, raising her head and smiling with gratitude, happy for the first time in a long time. Jynx grinned back.
"I think there might be a chance of other problems arising later. Is it okay if I stay with you, so that we can figure this all out? I don't think either of us really have anyone else to turn to, anyway." Jynx laughed nervously, and her screen flickered for a second.
Roxy nodded. "Thank you, Jynx."
