Heptite

Username: TheCrimsonAge
Name: Heptite
Nickname: Basilisk or The Basilisk
Personality: Heptite isn't shy, he just prefers to keep from embarrassing himself. He doesn't really know how to interact with other Goblin Gators due to the fact he's been alone in different timelines for the majority of his life. Another reason for his introverted personality is that he just plain doesn't trust others. He wants to speak to others but if he becomes too flustered or suspicious, he'll make up an excuse to get away whomever he was with. He enjoys being alone for the most part however he has a fear of being alone forever. He's very observant and intelligent, never missing a thing. Some of the newer generation Goblin Gators are slightly unnerved by his cold and calm demeanor.
Why The Coloring?: Heptite's fur consists of electrical colors due to the amount of energy he holds within his body that came with his power over time. In the night he appears to glow, especially his eyes. There's no way you'll ever lose him in the dark!
Family: Heptite had to abandon his family in order to keep them safe from the humans ad creatures who hunted him. He does not know what happened to them after his departure in time however it is certain that they are long dead.
Likes: Being alone or with one other, solving problems, traveling, attempting to learn languages, eating oranges, a bunch of other stuff.
Dislikes: Most people/creatures, caves, being the odd one out, and apples. He's never liked apples.
Habits: Heptite has a habit of zoning out at random moments. He also tends to frequently check his hourglass for reassurance he is not accidentally traveling through time.
Friends: None at the moment (I don't have any other Goblin Gators)
Enemies: None at the moment (I don't have any other Goblin Gators)
Accessories: Heptite always carries a golden pocket watch on a chain around his neck so that he can always tell if he's remaining in the future or moving into the past/future. Hey, power over time can be hard to control!
Song: Clocks by Coldplay
Element: Time
How their element has both been a blessing and a curse:
Heptite's power is both a blessing and a curse. He was born long ago in Medieval Europe to a family of common Goblin Gators. He was the odd one out, being the only one with the power over time in his family. However he lived a relatively normal life. He enjoyed hunting, and he along with his brother helped to provide food for their small family. He taught himself to use his powers slow down time and kill his prey with ease. When humans watched him perform this tactic, they merely saw the prey drop dead while Heptite stood far away, simply watching with uncertainty the the people observing him. The humans were oblivious of his power over time and simply concluded that this terrifying creature had killed his prey with a single glance. Fear rose among the Europeans as word rose of this creature. As rumors spread, people gave a name to Heptite. They called him "Basilisk," the king of snakes. Men from all over Europe came to try to kill this reptilian beast in return for glory and fame. Heptite feared for his life, never trusting any human nor creature, not even those of his kind. He decided to flee Europe in search of somewhere safe. He traveled far and wide, speeding up time to hasten his journey. He made it all the way to Guinea when he decided to take one last step to ensure his safety. He used his power over time to bring himself back to the age of Pangaea. He had to avoid creatures throughout this trip back in time, picking up useful skills along the way. Over time as a side effect of time travel, Heptite had forgotten the reason he was on the run. It was only when he encountered a much more prehistoric version of his kind who tried to eat him did he realize he had to go back to his time. He entered a cave beneath the ground, safe from predators and distractions. With one last look at the early Earth's sky, he entered a deep hibernation. He kept himself young as he fast forwarded the world around him. The only time he awoke was to avoid being buried deep beneath the earth but even then he did not fully awake. No one could go near Heptite in his comatose state, for anyone who neared him would be swept away in a confusion of time and place. The area around him became known as the Bermuda Triangle. Due to the sheer amount of energy it took to travel this far in time, poor Heptite ended up way past his time, in the year 2016. Heptite awoke afraid and alone at the bottom of the ocean. Heptite avoided the effects of being so deep in the ocean by using his power to keep a bubble of time around him which acted as if he was in a time in which the place he was at was not actually deep under water. He swam up to the surface, calling upon a land bridge in the past to guide him to the main land. He was immediately met with strange sights and noises. A passing old Goblin Gator happened upon him and took in Heptite. The old gator treated Heptite as her own, introducing him to other Goblin Gators and teaching him to live in this time. Heptite eventually learned to trust others again however he still holds a slight distrust of others and a deep grudge for humans. However, he claims that he content with living in the present and that he's had enough of the future and the past in his life time.
Summary/Key Points from all of that ^ as well as some stuff that was not mentioned:
- By using his power to travel through time to hunt prey, he accidentally caught the attention of old time Europeans an was hunted through Europe. Being hunted by humans and even some other creatures caused him to distrust other beings. (BAD)
- Travelling through time takes up a LOT of energy which isn't the best for Heptite's health. Often results in dreariness and dizziness. (BAD)
- Those who know of his power may try to befriend Heptite in order to gain control of his power for their own benefits. Because of this, Heptite has an increased distrust in others. (BAD)
- Heptite has a (would be irrational if not for the fact it happened to him) fear of waking up in a strange place alone. (BAD)
- Even though Heptite can control time, he often loses track of time when travelling through it. (BAD)
- Heptite is still trying to adjust to the present (2016) so he still has trouble coping with all the new things in his life. (BAD)
- Heptite is known as the "Basilisk" which can bring both bad rumors about him but at the same time he is viewed with awe by the younger generations of Goblin Gators. (Good/BAD)
- Heptite can preserve his health using his power over time (GOOD)
- Heptite has gained a lot of experience throughout his adventure, becoming wiser than probably all other Goblin Gators. (GOOD)
- Having gone through different times and places, he can understand a large variety of languages. Some of which he can imitate with slight difficulty. (GOOD)
- He can create illusions out of time which can be used to confuse enemies or to help others in distress. (GOOD)
- Heptite can always go back in time to correct some mistake. Whether it be going back to save someone or to stop some disaster from happening. (GOOD)
- Heptite can decrease the amount of time it takes for him to travel by fast-forwarding his actions in time. (GOOD)
- Due to being born long ago, Heptite looks a lot different than other Goblin Gators of the present time. This can lead to some distrust form other Goblin Gators and even some hostility but otherwise does not effect him. (MEH)
- Being able to control time, Heptite could technically live forever if he wanted. (GOOD/MEH)

To be honest I got completely lost when writing all of that. Time is confusing >_< Hopefully the story isn't as confusing as I think it is. I'm a terrible writer in general (guess who's failing English class?!?) I tried to tie in some myths and concepts with him. Who said a basilisk couldn't really be a Goblin Gator? Also I'm sorry for any typos that are most definitely there. Oh my gurd I've become obsessed with this Goblin Gator!!
